we need to win NZ away. I'm confident vs Souths but then Penrith will be favourites and we never do well at Manly. I'll be happy with 2/4 and delighted with 3/4

no way we win all 4 - winning 1 is more likely

Round 3 vs Panthers should be a cracker.

Play like we did last season and they'll lap us imo.

It'll be interesting to see where we're at.

for some reason, I'd thought that was an away game. Good that it's home so I can attend. (0 chance I'm driving Avalon to Penrith on a Friday night)

A win as a "high priority" in a trial might indicate a team in need of confidence or maybe they have an insecure coach.

I imagine the rest of the coaches are not focused on the winning or losing of an up coming trial match

Gee Penrith and the Storm must be terribly worried about the beginning of the season if trial results are so important. I think you need to take a deep breath and wait to see how things play out. Don’t put too much stock in trial form or results.

Agree, but I hope we don't start the season very slowly and be 2 or 3 wins down after the opening rounds.

we have Sharks rd 5 as well but then we have a very nice 5 week stretch where we play the Knights, Titans, Cowboys and Dragons. We have the Broncos during that spell too but at home.

Being in queensland, the early friday game pre daylight savings sucks, rush home from work , get a quick run in, then grab a bevvie and in front of tv by 5 is hard to do, might watch delayed

On defense alone I don’t have us making the top 8 this year not to mention poor ball handling and injuries. Then there will be concussions and we saw in the trials just how poor our depth really is to cover these things. DCE is a defensive liabiity along with Walker. Hugo would have got us in a much better place than DCE will.

You're forecasting based on last season.

It's a new year! Give the boys a chance.

Mate , im sorry if you dont have this team making the 8 , you should reconsider supporting them , every expert nrl pundit has us top 4 .

Last year looked grim , this year looks a lot better , with the youngsters, dce , robson on board.

I would be a lot more confident with Hugo and Robson starting.

It's not looking good for next week we've lost our last 3 matches the week after playing in Auckland: Last year we put it one of our worst performances at home against the Titans, in 2023 we lost to the Cows in magic round and you have to back to 2018 for the third where we lost to the Broncos which I think was the night Dylan Napa broke the jaw of a Broncos with a dangerous shoulder charge.
