I think Groucho will go alright this year.
I’d like to see a more defensive minded team this year, especially at the start of the season and I think he provides that.

Does the modern game allow a hooker to play 80?
If Robson gets a rest, will they go for a utility player or a back up hooker like Ioelo that plugs the middle and has good service?

Is it a 4 or 6 player bench? Has it been confirmed?

Would I bet on us not winning the comp and Robson being a fizzer, at the odds of $1.10? That says us not winning the comp and Robson being a fizzer is a 90.90% chance of happening. I think it's closer to 50/50. So no, I would not take $1.10. I hope that helps you out bro. You need to learn your percentages before you try and talk about betting bro.
thanks for the lesson on betting odds from a self-confessed failure at gambling but you're acknowledgement that we're a 50/50 chance to win the comp with robson going okay kind of goes against what you've been saying in this thread, the tone you've been using, but all good. you're alright in a kind of basil fawlty way and i agree that benny looks a talent and us signing robson makes it difficult for him to progress.
we've signed him for the next three years and it might make sense to do a harry grant with him and offload him for a season if he's not getting game time. he's not the finished article but the more first grade he gets the better

Almost everyone who gambles is a failure at gambling, at least I'm honest about it. Guaranteed though, I'm less of a failure at gambling than you are bro. If you even bet. 50% chance of us winning a comp in the next 4 seasons. Next season we're a $7.50 chance. If we were those odds every year for the next 4 seaons, we'd be a 34% chance of winning one of those 4 comps. Of course if we don't win next season, or the one after, unless we've made grand finals and gone close, no way will be $7.50 in season 3 or 4. Then we become much less likely. I think 50% is a reasonable assessment.

Have no more cans, and please use at least some punctuation when you type your wandering text blocks, they are deadset, very hard to read mate.

I hope I am Basil Fawlty in some way, as you are of course Manuel. Or the drunken chef. Actually no, you're the Major!

Great show, I miss it a lot.

you need to stay off the blow, brother. it makes you over-confident.
i don't bet so no, i'm not a failure like you. 'if you even bet'? i don't have a problem with betting but is it something to be proud of?
i was offering those odds for us to win the comp this year but yeah, hard to believe that fawlty towers only went for 12 episodes given its legacy

Complete and utter nonsensical, dribbling, broken-english, mindless, gibber. I've never seen you like this. I do hope you're ok.

"Potentially"? Potentially it might also give us less of a "premiership window". DCE = one top four finish in his last 10 seasons. Number of comps won in 10 years = zero.

              "Potentially" means nothing.

Finally dropped from Origin last season, at the age of 36, when there is barely a challenger for the Qld halfback position (Sam will be the next). Manly couldn't see the back of him quick enough. They'd know him better than anyone. DCE has no upside. Only downside. Hugo and Sam are the ones with all the upside. But you also think Hugo is "overrated"? You don't like the signing of DCE, and Hugo is overrated.

Lots of words, hard to agree with any of it though. And seriously Rodwell is a junior in no way proven at senior level. DCE is, and Hugo is. And Sam is. If you're basing our future in the halves on an unproven junior you might have seen play once, you're kidding.
You bag someone for talking about potential yet the whole premise of your thread is based on potential!

                Amen.
Very Jake Friend like is Robson.
If you want a top class hooker you have to pay him properly.
                $750,000 is reasonable.

my understanding is that it's a 6 player bench but you can only use 4 of them...unless there's an HIA in which case you can use a fifth.

IF that's true then I'd expect at least 3 big forwards and a utility as per usual and and then a halves sub and then either another forward if you are comfortable you can cover an outside back injury or an outside back sub

Robbo has struggled to find a nine who can replicate Jake Friend's masochistic workload. He wants a hooker who can make a thousand tackles a game.

It's easy to overlook quality players when their team is struggling like the Cows were last year. Even rep selectors fall victim to this E.g Api's rep career was pretty much over once he helped the Tigers win another spoon.

Robson potentially could be the most astute signing since Cronk! His work ethic is second to none and leads by example with a relentless line speed that set's the tone. His dummy half service is 10/10. Grant is a rung above with playmaker type attackers instinct.
