    Good question Brother Steggles.

He has the potential to be one of the games best and is developing nicely however let's not put unnecessary pressure on him just yet as he's only 23.

Imo he plays like 23 year old very good prop should play. Nothing more and definitely not in the Haas, Tino , JFH etc class. There are things those players do that can't be measured by stats.

You may think I'm being harsh but one day when he's 26/27 you'll cream your pants and say Batsey was right

          Yes batesy back this
I bellieve just under that top tier above the middle tier guys and he beats most of that top tier allready for mtrs - yardage
in a couple of years I think he could go around is his defence game improves like his attack is
huge potential with this guy I think he will be one of our major assets for years

Whyte doesnt get mentioned in the Hass, Tino, JFH, AFB class because he hasnt been around as long as those other guys but at the Roosters he does for the Roosters what they do for their clubs in regards to effort, ticker, defence, doing the hard carries. Like Batesy said when he's 26, 27, 28 he'll be at his best. In 3, 4, 5 years down the track after he's been doing that many years of weights & training hard getting his physic harder & harder he'll be ranked like Hass, Tino, JFH, AFB.
Out of all of them Hass is the one you'd want.

Darcy Smith and Lachlan Dooner will be players to watch as far as their development goes in 2026 and beyond - Darcy a backrower and Lachlan who can play a range of positions in the backs and forwards.

The Problem will be keeping them - The Roosters need to continue on their internal development path as a very good crop of players are coming through these pathways.

Lachlan a tall fellow - at 15 he was taller than James Tedesco

Good that the Roosters headed off the usual culprits interest in Central Coast Harold Matthews Cup Fullback Zaylen Ekepati and he will play in the Sydney Roosters SG Ball side in 2026.

Whyte is only after Haas and maybe afb for mtrs but easily has the rest of them, only been 1 season but give it time
Tino and tapine are big motors while JFH and Leota are more defensive middles
whytes Ball carrying, footwork and leg drive in contact is insane and will only get better
reminds me of a bigger and more powerful SSt
SSt I rated as good as any prop in his prime

The Roosters don't need mass signings with the talent coming through - Internal development and patience is the key.

Forgot about Backrower James Finegan a standout in SG Ball in 2025 - Has Earnt a train and trial spot - 2026 NRL Pre-Season - son of former Wallaby Owen Finegan

Be also interested in how Blessing (Malu) Foini goes in 2026 (prop) after a standout year in Harold Matts for CC Roosters in 2025 . - A lot of comments about how many 16 year olds have moustaches - actually 15 when this was taken in 2024. - He is a big unit from New Zealand

Whyte was close to the best prop with the ball in the pacific championship. He needs to improve his lateral defence under the posts, and total game time and he will be right up there. He seems to have a fairly gentle attitude, he might need to get a bit more aggressive but at least he doesnt give away stupid penalties. I think he is already our best middle.

                          Typical King Muppet

You wouldn't have a clue about the young players above! The same old cut and paste that gives you some form of relevance in your sad little word.

It won't be long and you'll be banned for the 6th time.

Don't be too harsh Bates. You are better than that.

No harm is currently being done and most of us find the information useful. Where else are we supposed to look, if not by using a search engine?

I urge Bates to carry on as per normal.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
