  • Angus in Aus rugby from 2027

Well it’s finally happened Angus has signed with Aus rugby for 2027 so 26 will be just last as a rooster as well
seems with he and Marky and potentially DCE and toops retiring could be a one shot year at the title this hear

tbh I love Angus but had been hit and miss in form for his pay packet not quite the line running edge he was at Souths
    Goodluck to him

we now have more coin to re sign and upgrade the younger backrow brigade

As good as that would be, with Marky and possibly Toops not there, we'd certainly be giving priority replacement there, Tino, if he'd leave the GC (doubtful), would be serious sombrero manipulation, especially to have both.

I see us grabbing a few big names from elsewhere for 2027.
The amount of cash we have available with the two blokes going to rugby and I expect DCE to also finish up at the end of 26 and with a few others exiting.

We are definitely winning a premiership before the decade finishes, possibly two as I would expect we are going to this year as well.

We're probably not getting full value out of him so it's probably a good decision for both parties. Hopefully he can have a big season.

I thought the best we've seen from him was the back half of 2020 where he played in the middle. He was offloading at will and causing lots of havoc.

he was incredible in 24 and has been a really strong, consistent back rower for us for the past 5+ years. I feel like we've had his best years and I wish him all the best in rugby.

Tino will be 27 for the 2027 season. Not ancient, but not a spring chicken either. I'd of course be really happy if he joined, but I'd love the club to find a 22-24yr old instead. We could probably get two really good ones for what we'd have to pay Tino

Based on this news, I believe the next priorities are to re-sign Wong and Savala, and then extend Foketi

Good decision for both parties, majority of his time with us he has been hit or miss. Never will forget his 2024 season with us, and he was a member of 2019

He will leave us aged 31 and hopefully with two premierships. Good luck to him - he seems like a good bloke.

Good riddance as far as I am concerned he's never shown consistency worthy of his hype and pay cheque ever since we signed him save for a few purple patches that usually coincided with him being off contract. He got his contract renewal at the end of 2024 and shit the bed in a major way in the finals against the top teams that'll be my lasting memory of him.

Marky Mark might not down tools and pike it all year like Manu did but Crichton sure will.

Not a bad time to let him go considering his age. Allows Wong and Rads to own the 11 and 12 with Connor in the 13.
