Has signed a 2 year Japanese deal worth over $1m a season
on that money can’t see him coming back to the nrl any time soon
lets hope for one more big season from him

He won't get that coin in the NRL and whether that affects his selection chances for the Wallabies for the Rugby World Cup in 2027 is anyone's guess.

Out of sight and out of mind springs to mind. Players slogging it out week in week out in the super rugby comp may get the jump on him as far as selection goes?

Very much doubt he will be back in the NRL as he would earn more coin playing Rugby whether in Japan or Europe especially with generous tax concessions for overseas players.

Move on I would say after 2026.

100% agree. He is a rare natural talent in attack, but can learn how to organise the defensive line. I’d love to find out.

TBH with us signing Talau, Garrick and that other bloke from the Dragons I had questions about why we need so many outside backs. If Marky Mark's heart isn't in it then power to him for finding an opportunity.

has suaali toughness and the skill and finesse of Manu
just has the odd unforced errors which he needs to work on

In the 2 years he will have with us - and only 1 so far gee he has been a talent and left many awesome replays and tries on the highlight reel

Unpopular opinion but he should be let go now, thanks for the 2025 season but none of these players who sign elsewhere a year in advance have a good year and we saw Manu dog it for 18 months in anticipation of his union stint. Send him on his way now and pay Manly to get Garrick a year early happy days.

Most nrl players sign a year out with the next club they are playing for
do this and you may never see them back
tbh if you were in Marky m shoes would you have chose different? To pick a World Cup in Aus plus $1m plus pay packet in Japan plus national top up over $500k with us for another year
and not to say that if manly don’t release Garrick we are stuck with temu toops on the wing
we have Mark a steal let’s use him for 1 more year

Good for him, remember when we were all planning on Manu coming back June 2025 after the end of the 2024 season. He was forgotten about by round 5. Let's hope he goes out playing good football.

Mark still has plenty to prove and I’m sure he still has the enthusiasm, surely he’d want to finish this season with everyone hoping he’ll be back in the nrl one day.
