  • The Heat is on....

.....Robbo .Every man and his dog is tipping the chooks .
    I am on the fence.
Depends on Walker delivering in the semis and if he cant Daly might be called on .. so I do see a void plugged.
    They make me nervous.
Can Teddy produce like last year? I reckon not only because he will do a bit less and time his runs.
They lose games this year they will be hearing from my ratings.

    Hopes up.

Forgive me Brain but I'm a big Glenn Frey fan..

I haven't been so excited for a new season for a while now. It feels different already this year..

I worry about our go-forward in the middle if Whyte ends up out/injured for any length of time.

Collins is a pillow these days. Shillington-esque.
Gus is getting old and is no where near as effective as in the past, and gives out as many penalties as he does tackles.
We've got a tiny second row with Rads and Watson in there.
Steep & Foketi are still largely unproven long term.
Leniu adds dynamic impact, but he doesn't lay the platform.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think our pack is bad.

But Whyte was the only Roosters guy lighting up the forwards stats sheet for the comp overall last year.

There are currently other packs much better balanced and perform the yardage stuff better.

If we have a weak point this year, that is it imo.

I still can’t work out why the concretor isn’t given more of a go at the Chooks.

start of last year it's because he was only on a NSW Cup contract and couldn't play without exemption

but then he got lifted to top 30 midway through the year and wasn't used...

he did sign a new contract until end of 2027 so hopefully it's a case of bringing him along slowly ala Wong, Whyte etc

Only 3 things can stop us.

              1. Klein.

              2. Trump. Invading our country during the finals series and kidnapping Kevin Rudd.

              3. Broncos.

We'll be a force to be reckoned with in 2027 especially if we sign Tino.

Quick question - Is Sammy Walker still a rookie now that he's 23 and has played 86 NRL games?

                You've read my mind.

I don't get why Robbo used him so sparingly last season.

                He needs more game time!

What bugs me is that he fires up and performs for QLD. I find this quite insulting!

Oh he was a rude man for sure but I did enjoy his performance with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Back on topic, been chatting to work mates today who are all Roosters fans and some are still unsure about DCE. Like me, they want to see the younger generation have a red hot crack at the title.

I have faith in the man in your avatar and have started this year feeling calm about all sorts of matters. The last time I felt like this was 2013..

Lotta big ifs for season 2026 as far as I'm concerned.

I'm less confident about a GF than most people seem to be.

                        1 Injuries
2 Loss of form to key players
                        3 Bounce of the ball

Need a consistent season and not be in a position later in the season where they have to win most of the remaining games to make the finals. i.e 2022/2023/2025.

Only have missed the finals once since 2013 (2016).

The media both print and the chat shows install us as favourites or near favourites almost every year. It’s all part of the tall poppy process.
