Wow, so those that bagged him last season and could see a negative shift in his performance were all over it?

If I'm Robbo and my job is to win comps, I'd be encouraging Lindsay to find a new club asap.

      nice to see you back.
Mate I couldn't get the site to work for about 2 years or however long it was. Every time I visited it just didn't allow me to post so I, other than one or two times when it magically worked, became a reader and not a poster.

But since the upgrades its working great so happy to be back.

I've mellowed a bit these days after being permanently demoralised by rule changes and referees but let's see how long that lasts as the new season starts.

        My take is that:

        - Latrell isn't coming back and if he is, he's not getting red carpet treatment.

        - Tino's not coming either and most of the talk I hear is that clubs would be willing to sell a kidney to sign Whyte... before they even think about Tino.

There's a reason we punted May and the boring part at the time was that Robbo was completely upfront about it. Mate... you're behind Whyte in the pecking order and he will be a starting front rower next season. We can't pay both you and Spencer 2-3 times his salary to play off the bench!

Latrell is a different kettle of fish to those guys.

Latrell doesn't play nice with others, and is a self centered primadonna.

I do like him as a player.

But I hate his total lack of ability to be a TEAM player. Toxic.

Don't forget how far Robbo went to try and keep him happy, placated, well taken care of.

Even with all the special treatment and favourability. it was still never enough for him and he bit the hand that fed him in the end.

He tows the line when he plays for NSW. Consummate professional and very popular with his team mates.

Perhaps Souffs are a bad fit for Mitchell. Too much pressure and playing in the wrong position which inevitably brings out the worst in him.

He hasn't looked happy since he left the Roosters! There's now a rather large chip on his shoulders. He may need to pay land tax if it continues to grow.

Would you welcome him back and could he potentially be a suitable replacement for Teddy when he retires? Maybe....Dunno

I'd welcome him back. Let's kiss, make up and win a premiership together again. I'd play him in the centres if he returns. I watched most of his Holden Cup games and thought he was going to be the next Mal Meninga. He went close then farked up by moving to Souffs.

He can still become a legend of the game however he will need Robbo's help imo.

              Thoughts.
Don't want him back. His attitude is the reason his freakish ability isn't being maximized.

He is a shadow of the player he was when he left the Roosters. The club made him a better offer to stay than Souths did and he still dithered, so Nick got fed up and Trent consulted the senior players who said let him go, so they did. He ended up playing there for a couple of years on much less than he would have got from us. He wasn't good for team culture and he hasn't been good for Souths. It would be a big risk to try to get him back.

On the news of Mini's retirement, a fellow in the old Bay 24 with was talkig to me about who might relace him. He'd been watching Lattrell in reserves and thought that he was average. I ofter wonder if that opinion was moderated after what followed over the next few seasons. Of course he was at Centre.

For mine he could have played anywhere and done well - Lock, Fringe, anywhere in the backs. The best Centre I've seen in the RWB. I didn't think that he was an egregious flop at Full back in the red and green, he won them a lot of games and might well have got them a flag but clearly he is best at Centre. Hopefully the dizziness of celebrity, and its deadly distractions, has abated some when he returns. Won't be holding the breath.

However, I don't like the fact he bad mouthed the club when he left - it just wasn't necessary.

Still a champion player on his day, but I think his best days are behind him. I'd prefer Easts to invest in youth (Rex Bassingthwaite for one), and who knows who may come through the lower grades.

As good as Mitchell is/has been, his best days were many years back when he (and Manu) was one of the best centres in the world.
Yes, he was pure magic at left centre in 2018 and 2019. Our "lethal left side" was on fire every game. That try of ours at the end of the 2019 grand final was indeed pure magic.

2028 would of course be ten years later. Pure magic is not what he has displayed in recent years, more than a few people seem to believe.

No from me for him to return to Roosters.

Premiership winning deadly left edge attack combos

2013. left edge - Jennings, Maloney, Cordner.
2018/19. left edge - Mitchell, Keary, Cordner.

Compared to this years potential left edge

                      2026. B Smith, Walker, Crichton

                        I love Latrell
He's a big indigenous Aboriginal with attitude who plays the game with agro, he's dirty, grubby & rough just what I want from the Roosters players.

I think we could offer him a coaching role as well when he retires if he comes back

I don't think he wants a coaching role. He has said in the past he wants to retire at his Taree farm at 30.

Coaches need to be disciplined and some these days are as fit or even fitter than their players. Craig Bellamy for example would often out run his players half his age when training.

It was tongue in cheek mate.

I don’t think Latrell will retire at 30 because he ain’t ever gonna make 750k to a mil a year in Taree.

                                100%

The tax man takes 50% of his income so he's not all that flush like EPL and NBA players.

He'll play on and retire at 34 imo.
