  • Crowds

This has been a record-breaking season for the Roosters with home crowds averaging close to 26,000. This continues a growth trend over the past few years.

Special thanks to the vermin for their part in this. Their non-stop whining and chest-beating this week motivated a significant number of their dentally challenged fan base to turn up, contribute to the Roosters bank account and bolster the crowd to over 40,000.

I've seen this year's crowd averages posted on socials and opposition fans are predictably saying we've cooked the books.

But every Chooks game I've been to this year has had a massive attendance.

As a long time supporter who endured the horror of the 90s and the Super League nightmare, it's amazing to see how successful the Roosters board has made the club.

We were 100% on the bring of oblivion during Super League and now we're the New York Yankees of the NRL.

        And mentally.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I'll never forget sitting at Henson Park in 1990 with crowds of less than 5,000. The club was going backwards and there was no hope in sight.

The club hasn't looked back since Politis took over and brought in Gould and Freddy. There's a reason why we are hated so much.

Yeah I put 5,000 to make myself feel better.

              Glad you were there too!

All credit to Uncle Nick and the board, our brand has never been healthier.

Think Robbo deserves a lot of credit too, a commitment to good honest, attacking footy.

He gives his outside backs the freedom to express themselves, think RTS, Latrell Mitchell, Joey Manu, Sammy Walker and now Mark Nawaqanitawase. I don't know how many other coaches would've 1) taken the risk on Marky Mark and then 2) backed him to the hilt like Robbo has.

And then he lets his forwards play it tough and doesn't let them roll around on the ground to play for penalties.

No matter what attracts you to the game, I can see why plenty of people would enjoy watching the style of play and the style of player we have promoted over the last 15 or so years.

No! Don't you know no-one comes to see the Roosters and they have no fans, despite constantly being around the 2nd most attended home ground team in Sydney. The haters know best!

There's always an answer from the haters. I remember them constantly saying things like 'There's no way there's 20,000 people there!! Look at all the empty seats!!', not realising that a half-full SFS was about 20,000 because their own pithy little stadium didn't even hold that many.

According to social media our crowds are mainly away fans.
