We have well and truly overachieved.

I’m stoked that we made the finals. Anything now is bonus.

      We are far from done.

We keep playing like this - and who knows what could happen.

      GO ROOSTERS.

If we can play our best footy for 80 minutes we’ll go deep into the finals and potentially win it.

DCE should just retire and work for Foxsports or Ch 9.

Getting into the finals after seeing the first few weeks is bordering on miraculous. Getting in there by beating Souths is glorious.

It's an accomplishment but we still have a job to do, I think this team can at the very least make a preliminary final, so much fun to watch them go around and a great win tonight.

Now that the regular season is over here is how DCE ranked compared to Hugo Savala who he will replace in his "wOrSt SeAsOn EvEr!!1111"

            40/20 Kicks: 3 (4th overall for a halfback)

Kicking Metres: 9547 (4th overall for a halfback)

Linebreak Assists: 16 (10th overall in the entire comp, 3rd overall halfback)

            Offloads: 20 (1st overall for a halfback)

Running Metres: 1562 (4th overall for a halfback)

Tackle Breaks: 35 (4th overall for a halfback)

Try Assists: 21 (5th overall, 4th overall for a halfback)

            ---

            40/20 Kicks: 0 (Not ranked)

Kicking Metres: 6560 (10th overall for a halfback)

Linebreak Assists: 2 (23rd overall for any halfback that played this year, this includes reserves)

            Offloads: 5 (15th overall for a halfback)

Running Metres: 942 (14th overall for a halfback)

Tackle Breaks 20 (10th overall for a halfback)

Try Assists: 10 (11th overall for a halfback)

            ---

As you can see with the regular season stats DCE is in the top 5 for most key kicking, playmaking and oddly enough even running stats, Hugo is mostly near the bottom of the pack for every key half stat except kicking and tackle breaks which he scrapes into the top 10 on. This proves that DCE is a considerably better half than Hugo, not sure why people pretend that isn't the case especially when Hugo plays for a far better team and hasn't faced the same adversity that DCE has this year.

DCE should play here next year and he will lead us deep into the finals, I'd bank on a grand final appearance in 2026 and I'm sure all his detractors here will be celebrating every win and praising him as a footballing god when it occurs.

I will start off by saying i don’t mind DCE for just the one year, it can only be a positive thing especially if Walker stays as our dominant halfback.

but also i think Savala’s stats don’t matter or reflect what he offers for Walker games, it’s his composure and long kicking game that balances out Walkers game.

                  the Ying & the Yang.

                    Cheese
Sammy for 18 or so games.
You can also say Dom for most of the season even thought we found someone 10x better.

We did it off the back of two kids in the halves. Bless Sandon and Hugo. We wouldn't be where we are without them.

BTW no idea how this turned into a DCE thread. Oh wait a minute I just realised why.

For the record Sammy/Hugo are now 5-0 full games together. Yin and Yang.

At the start of the year I just wanted us to avoid the spoon.

We lost so much experience but the rise of Nawaquanitawase, Whyte and Savala just to name a few, has got us to a freaking finals berth!

All hail Robbo the Redeemer ahaaaaa lessssss goooooooooo

Not hating on Hugo at all, he'll be a great long term half either here or somewhere else but DCE would half composure, long kicking and top 5 in playmaking, running game and kicking which is why I don't understand why people pretend they don't want him here.

JWH in the end cost us more games than he won. I love Jared, but in the end he was a liability.
They told Keary to retire. Sammy and Keary just didn’t work and he wasn’t going to the line like he used to.
They wanted him to be the organiser, but yeah he couldn’t do it.
Joey Manu was terrible last year, had the occasional 9/10 game but his defence was atrocious.
Suaalii was getting better and he was learning to pass the ball, better on the wing, but someone thought he was a centre.
Terrell who knows..never really in the click like the Butcher boys.
Sitili, those hands Sitili…hold the ball>

The only problem this year was attitude. Games we thought we would win we lost. Games we thought no chance we won.
Hugo and his long boot has enabled us to play Roosters football. Which is..the Roosters way.
                            In Robbo we Trust.

                              We have done well
written off and being favs for the spoon early in the year
we lost a lot of experience and talent however the rise of Marky mark, toia, Billy smith a fully fit, savala, Wong, Whyte being now a top 5 prop in the game plus Foketi and steep etc we have some serious talent now

                              also Sammy Walker back
if Sammy starts the year I’d say we would have won close to several more of the ones we should have won and been easily in the top 4

The comp is there for the taking this year
