About to be let go by the Knights, would he do a job here? I recall he was part of our 2019 coaching staff as an assistant and he has taken the Knights to a lot of finals appearances despite a pretty average team.

I doubt he would be welcomed back didn’t he walk out on an agreement to stay for a certain period seem to recall the Chooks we’re not happy when that happened

      Millions.

Holbrook suggested as his replacement at the Knights. That would be a big loss for us.

The word by the journos is that Green has that job.

Don't want O'Brien here because they say he's burnout. So better for him and us that he get himself sorted.

Sam Burgess is looking for a gig in the NRL. Perhaps he can clean our toilets

            Not sure mate.

But if he walked out of the Chooks to go direct to his Knights role, I would hold no ill will whatsoever and surely the club wouldnt have.

It would be mean spirited & cruel in the extreme for club to hold an Assistant Coach to ransom, when he has just been offered a Head Coach role elsewhere.

True and Hollbrook has our blessings as did Fitzy. But there appeared to be bad blood when AOB left so I doubt Uncle Nick would welcome him back. But Uncle Nick is a forgiving man. A kiss on each cheek and a welcome home is never out of the question.

              Still millions though.

                  Doubt they'd take him back.

                    That was Ryles I thought?

IIRC, after we lost both Holbrook & O’Brien to head coach roles, Ryles was asked to commit to his full 2 year contract if he was going to accept the role. He did that, then applied for another job about 6 months later. He didn’t get the gig, but we moved him on regardless.

I’m surprised that clubs gamble on untried assistant coaches rather than proven head coaches. Whether it be Flegg, Cup or ESL, coaches should be experienced in being the main voice to the players rather than just being a contributor.
