Only mow etc 1 of the 4 - the one we reside in - incorporated the cost of mowing etc into the rent payments - I did at one stage mow etc all 4 and it was a weekend wasted - so we contracted other folk to do the mowing etc for the other 3 . The neighbours keep an eye on it and they bring in the green bins after collection.
