DCE called out the Manly CEO on national television on Sunday and has already admitted he wanted to play on, he is saying "I might or I might not" in an attempt for things to not become a media circus.

This has nothing on DCE's Gold Coast signing Saga which was a Cirque du Soleil event - For weeks after signing with the Titans DCE kept saying he was playing for the Titans / informed them he was /100% he was right up to the start of round 13 - when the narrative suddenly changed.

Why round 13 - under the NRL rules back then players had up to the end of round 13 to change their minds/ back flip on any contract signed.

For me it is a big no. Why would we invest a $1m
plus for an ageing player , sounds like a band aid solution to me. When we signed Cronk our team was primed to win the comp and Cronk was the missing piece in the puzzle. Adding DCE to a side that is in rebuild is not the answer . Give the reins to Sammy

Nah… Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Very very good player but great player who leads this team to a comp inside 2 seasons? im not sure - he’s not done it with arguably a better squad in a decade.

Wouldn’t complain but not convinced.

The new contracts talks around Ponga is for a 2 million a season deal which is dependant on the new broadcast rights which would start from 2028 - Ponga is signed to 2027 with the Knights on 1.2 mill a season plus the 300k a year third party deals he is currently on.

Gees clubs will really make it hard for themselves to fill a competitive rosters paying such money for players - All players will want a pay rise
