Was listening to Mark Levy talking on 2GB. He was previewing this weekend's clash against the Broncos. He was saying that he couldn't understand how Anasta is still in the team considering his performances. He also commented on how poor his game stats were. I live in Perth, but listen to and watch a lot of NRL. This is only the second time that I heard someone in the media bagging Anasta out.

My wish is, that Smith, Politis, Noyce & co reads your forum posts, as I believe you guys have truly got your finger on the pulse on how the team is going. The stupid thing is, in my opinion we would have won the matches against the Warriors, Manly and Dragons if Smith simply dropped Anasta.

Andrew Moore is another on 2gb that has been questioning Anasta's effort/performances recently, it seems his untouchable status might be fraying a little, hopefully once the origin period is out of the way Smith (if he is still around) grows a set and finally removes the shackle on our team.

I wholeheartedly agree. Unlike many here, I am a pretty big fan of the AFL also and find many of their media miles ahead of the NRL. Having only just been back in Sydney and getting Foxtel, I find myself watching more and more AFL shows like AFL 360 and "on the couch". I struggle to get through NRL on Fox. Even the commentary is significantly better (except maybe Bruce).

Granted the AFL have their fair share of idiots also, but I find many of their ex-players to be extremely well spoken and insightful.

Just remember:
when Anasta was payed a five year marquee salary, his peers had voted him the most overrated player 4 times. Effectively the people most in the know thought the "next freddy" was sh$te.
Since his signing we have won a wooden spoon and generally been an inconsistant rabble. We have had star players sacked and we have had Anastas former teammates (Omeley, Mason, Myles) treat the Roosters as an easy ATM machine.
For 6 years he has stifled our attack and thwarted the development of better halves.
For years forum posters have predicted he would get better, or that his real value lay in him being a Good bloke etc
In 2012 the only people who are newly aware that we have one of the games most overrated cap burgalring retards are the retards themselves.
