Benefits aren't questionable in weightlifting/powerlifting. The lift is completed moment after 'sniffing them'. They work.Originally posted by worldbe3 View PostSmelling salts, they used be used to wake up
unconscious people but now athletes and gym goers use them in an attempt to boost athletic performance. Their benefits are questionable
With League however i cant see how they would be beneficial. It wouldn't be the same salts you use in powerlifting etc

the smelling salts fad already came went in the US. Last I saw them over there was probably about 10-15 years ago.Originally posted by BEC View PostThanks. Not a fad here in the states yet lol.
they used to use them to to wake up NFL and NHL players after getting their bell rung. Basically banned from such use now as it’s basically a Band-Aid treatment for concussion.

Hits you hard doesn't itOriginally posted by Dr. Voodoo Man View PostSome of my students use them. I actually had a sniff a few weeks ago for a laugh. Terrible stuff lol
Heaps of different sorts when it comes to quality though. They have good effect when using sparingly and going for a 1RM

That's what the lower grades use (I've seen this at Blacktown Workers and St Mary's) and I highly doubt it's smelling salts. This could do more damage than good !Originally posted by Nicola Tesla View PostI thought the tub with the towel was a high concentration of eucalyptus oils which open up your airways as well as pumps you a little ???? But believe they use smelling salts also?

Yeah, I remember the days we crushed the little capsule of smelling salts and waved it under their noses to 'revive' a concussion player. I've never seen it before a game though...and have never been involved with power lifting so I had no clue about that.Originally posted by Danish View Post
