It's more than a pushed pass. I flinch every time one of our blokes is wrestling in a tackle to get back to his feet. I'm convinced he's going to spill it on the way up.1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

You don't think a guy like keary who has lived and breathed footy for over 20 years knows how to set up attacking raids?Originally posted by kakaruk View Post
If that's what's happening, we need to hire an attacking coach immediately i understand now why we have the worst attack in the comp
The reason our attack is the worst is that our spine hasn't clicked.
They would have all theory (set plays/eyes up footy)in the world, the problem is they haven't been able to apply it practically.
Smith's new to the club, been under an injury and form cloud, our halves are unstable with walkers relegation (Manu and hutch say no more) and teddy needs to simplify his game which I thought he did in the second half last start and went pretty well.
They're not bereft of what to do, it's just getting it all together for 80 minutes.
I can't see us struggling this bad all season unless the injury toll really hits hard.
But, a season is only so long and they don't have forever to work it out.

So what are you saying? we don't need coaches and we just let the players work it all out themselves.? Thats radical, Is this you Robbo?Originally posted by Sentimentinel View Post

Lol. Of course not but one could argue they have a lot more cooks for everything these days.Originally posted by kakaruk View Post

I like your extreme response though.
We should have "Fan Round". Where the fans can work it out for themselves, make the team selection, game plan.
I know of one poster on here that would LOVE that

Hutchinson would be captain coach, plus replacing Teddy at fullback.Originally posted by Sentimentinel View Post

Wouldn't be the first time a couple of us on here have picked a rugby league side. Probably a bit before your time but every club had a panel of selectors who in addition to the coach picked the run-on side for that week. It worked well as a check and balance to team selections some of them were ex-players some not .So yes champ i have been involved in picking a couple of first grade Rugby league sides but not in this country.Originally posted by Sentimentinel View Post

Yeah selection panels. When I coached they tried to dump that on me. I told them I was happy to have selectors as long as they were at the pub after each game to explain to the players and supporters why this guy got picked and this guy didn't get picked and as long as they shouldered the responsibility for any loss along with me. Funnily enough they reckoned that wasn't part of being a selector so we didn't end up with a panelOriginally posted by kakaruk View Post

eg. when Billy Smith dropped it cold after we get a 7 tackle set leading 16-12. They scored the next set!Originally posted by Carlos Parra View Post

You’d make Hutch a lifetime memberOriginally posted by King Salvo View PostOne way to quicken a demise of a club would be to have supporters pick the team and be involved in players signings and retentions - especially the dribbler convention folk on here.
Leave it up to the paid professionals is the best bet

That would be one of many examples. Absolutely no respect for the ball.Originally posted by Headless Chook View Post

Or play the ball incorrectly. Our guys think just turning up and throwing wild passes or kicking high kicks wins games. No strategy at all.Originally posted by Carlos Parra View Post
