Perfect timing! I went for a walk earlier with my ipod set to the 1995 Sydney Mardi Gras soundtrack. There are a couple of parties going on here in the east and lots of ABBA & Kylie remixes wafting across the neighbourhood on the breeze.

Hahaha unintended I guess.Originally posted by mightyrooster View PostAgree Izzy. But what’s this about you being a Paddo boy? Don’t we already have one of those on here?
My childhood was a little bit transient but involved finally settling down in a Paddo terrace that's a stone's throw away from the SFS (I originally started backing Easts because I trained for running at the same field as the chooks).
As a kid we'd always hoard milk crates (with a good friend) and then build a massive platform near Taylor Square to view the parade.Last edited by ism22; 02-25-2023, 09:35 PM.

Aah, sounds like great memories. I’m always interested to hear why someone chose the mighty roosters as their team.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

An old Paddo boy here also MR, lived about a 100 metres away from the old Sports Ground, used to sit there on the Paddo hill and watch Easts from about 1967.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

Unfortunately a lot of the 78ers would have needed assistance from the ambulances due to the police brutality then.Originally posted by Red. View PostPaddo was an awesome place to grow up.
Watched the 1978 Parade from the balcony of the Paddington Ambulance station.
On another foot note when i was at school at St Francis Paddington one of my class mates father was an ambulance driver based at Pasddington Ambulance station, from memory the family lived there at the ambulance station then, that would have been 1968-1970 .

Not sure how long the family was there, i was at St Francis from 1968-1970 till my father had a huge brain snap and sold our home in late 1970 just before Paddo really took off.Originally posted by Red. View PostThe family that lived there in 78 all went to Paddington Public as did I.
I remember going to one birthday party at the ambulance station for the guy i was at school with but i think they may have moved also just we moved away.
