You've articulated it beautifully Jack. Her Majesty sure worked with a lot of world leaders in her time. A revolving door of Prime Ministers and Presidents, some of them rogue and rough, but she remained constant, dignified and stoic. The original working mother setting an example way back when..thrust into it all at such a young age. But the Queen was also a passionate lover of dogs and horses which made her like the rest of us in that respect..Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View PostThe world is a bit less dignified and 'good' today.
A truly amazing lady.
If only some of that goodwill and integrity resided in our other leaders, the joint would be in such a better place.
RIP Your Majesty.
. I did mention on here earlier this year that I don't know of anyone else who has provided 70 years of such dedicated service. My dad had only wonderful things to say about the English when he served as a soldier in WWII. The royal family have a deep love and appreciation of Australia and Australians also. Zara met her husband here and they regularly mention how much they missed coming for the Magic Millions during Covid, Harry with the Invictus Games here in 2018 and Princess Anne recently coming to open the Royal Easter Show as her husband has family affected by the floods in Lismore. Their deep love of farming and the environment is from genuine experiences.
One of my favourite comments of hers was to Brian May.."Oh, you are the one who made all that noise on my roof!"

My auntie got a letter from her when she turned 100 in January and then passed from Covid in March. The family has it framed.Originally posted by eddie View PostDespite her age this has surprised me, I was expecting her to send a letter to herself in 4 years time.
Very sad day. She was a great queen.

She was in my shop once and I called my entire family and told everyone for years. I even gave her a Roosters mug.Originally posted by redwhiteblue View Post

Thanks very much Jack..Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View Post
Thanks for sharing RWB...a special moment for your family, in many ways.
One of my uncles was a police officer and met Queen Elizabeth when she awarded him a British Empire Medal for rescuing a family when their car fell into a river in Queensland. That was back in the 1950's.
He was also the one to teach me how to drive and also trained Mal Meninga at the academy...he had more than earned the medal by then..
