Disturbing but not surprising The government don’t care about the people Things like this show that very clearlyOriginally posted by mightyrooster View Post
It sure was disturbing. I had trouble getting to sleep after I watched it. How a government could treat innocent victims and their grieving families in such a way is disgraceful.
Anyway back on topic of hobbies and inspired by the series of Alice In Borderland We here are going to take up the game of croquetI respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Played a beginners game of croquet a couple of weeks ago and given a crash course in the skills and strategies, it was a fun afternoon, may take it up a bit more seriously sometime.Originally posted by Andrew Walker View Post

I collect and occasionally repair vintage digital watches. Yes I'm a nerd. Here's a clip of part of my collection.

What are they like to restore? I imagine relatively simple but small, tricky to disassemble and not necessarily easy to find parts for?

Can be very tricky and fiddly. Alas I have quite a few dead ones. Sometimes it's as simple as finding a working module to put into a nice case that had a dead module.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

Linking that in with hobbies, I have one of the cable car gondolas from the old showground (have renovated it as a little 'room' for playing retro games and sipping limoncello).Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

Was fantastic as a kid, the upside down house, the river caves, the ghost train and Coney Island. Would have been 6-7 when my father took me on the Big Dipper, as a young child it was terrifying but i think my father was even more terrified. The old wooden ferry ride over from the Quay to Luna Park was also good.Originally posted by Big Dog View Post

Growing up in Paddington we were only a block away from the Showground, so many great memories of the show as we would be there 3 or 4 nights as my father had free passes as he would work there some days fixing the public phonesOriginally posted by mightyrooster View Post
