I don't really divide people into classes like that, so don't have an opinion for you on that point.

On a broader level, there are definitely unnecessary pressures being put on our health systems by people going to hospital when they dont need to, and presenting for Covid tests when they don't need to.

As of 2 January, there were 95 covid patients in ICU (very sick). 50 % were vaccinated and 50% were unvaccinated. So the unvaccinated (5 % adult population NSW) are occupying 50 % of ICU beds.

In other words, you are 17 times more likely to end up in ICU with the virus without the vaccine.

This is very compelling evidence to me.

Interesting as the week before the on December 27 the figure bandied around was over 65 percent unvaccinated in ICU NSW Govt was openly boasting about this Now It has turned 15 percent in 1week Carry on that type of change at that pace in three weeks time it would be 95 percent vaxxed in ICU Not sure it will keep going at that pace but a 15 percent turn around with such an escalation in numbers is quite significant

Hi there Andrew. You can hope that in a few weeks the ICU vax/unvax stats will prove you right that the vaccine is ineffective at reducing ICU admission, but currently it's showing a massive over-representation of unvaxed people taking up ICU beds and if figures from overseas are anything to go by this will continue.

In the UK, there have been 11,431 covid ICU admissions from May-December 2021.

That's a LOT of admissions, way more than our 100 or so.

Guess what? This from the UK Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre:

The percentage of patients admitted to critical care with confirmed COVID-19 that were unvaccinated decreased from 75% in May 2021 to 47% in October 2021, consistent with the decreasing proportion of the general population who were unvaccinated, before increasing again to 61% in December 2021.
