Loved San Francisco when i was there back in 2014, hope i can get back one day but wont while Trump is in power.

And yes that is the album with Diana Ross, thank you for posting it, i can still remember buying it at Grace Brothers Bondi Junction,

Deeper Than The Night is on my IPOD but it hasn't played for a while.
The Tony Bennett ones I have I'll post separately as it won't let you post multiple links after you quote someone. I don't fancy travelling anywhere at the moment. My local cafe owner had the 25th anniversary trip from hell with her husband. They got stuck in huge crowds everywhere and she said even Switzerland was like being in an overcrowded supermarket. Qantas then cancelled their flights home and she had to borrow money to pay for flights as they'd originally gone on points. The 362 bus that runs between Rose Bay and Coogee is my 'overseas' travel this year. . Finally taking the same leave as the rest of head office this year and looking forward to doing whatever I want without relying on a smart phone to tell me where to go and what to do next. That's another offput for me. The travel writer for Fairfax said she found it really overwhelming with the number of apps she needed due to partner airlines etc..
You are welcome re the album and when I lived at Clovelly, I worked at the bank directly across the road from Grace Brothers. I still have a string of beads I bought from General Pants for $15
in the Carousel and wore them just the other day. Life was simple then. We used to go to Billy the Pigs for Friday lunch as we had a full hour due to closing time not being until 5pm on those days. I've got Deeper Than the Night on the 2022 remastered greatest hits.

    • This one is Tony Bennett Sings His All Time Hall of Fame Hits (can they make the title longer? )

      https://www.discogs.com/release/7005...95Od718IENz3NG z04sJfN2z2NuuqlP3Ee

Tony Bennett Celebrates 90 which has a star studded line up performing.

Then I have a duets album and also the one with Diana Krall which I think I did for Horrie on a USB stick.

Slightly OT for the music section but before i used to know virtually every bus route in Sydney until they starting changing them over the last 5-10 years, have friends who live in Rose Bay and meeting us at Coogee for lunch in a couple of weeks and they said they can get a direct bus that only runs on the weekend, that bus is the 362 which i did not know of.

It's my thread and I don't mind talking about buses. Yes I used to be the go to person as well for bus routes but during Covid, they all changed. I got lost going to the accountants back in 2023 as she's just off Avoca St and I ended up right outside my old place on Clovelly Road... I remember when you could get any bus to Randwick that went past my old shop or at least down the back via Carrington Road but because of the metro, they are all gone. I catch the 356 when I go now which is only once a year. I remembered because I was 56 at the time..LOL..

I wish that 362 ran more often and I think it does during holiday times. It comes down here via Curlewis St but doesn't stop on there until Campbell Parade. It doesn't go near my old place but goes past the one I lived in from 2002 to 2009. It doesn't get too crowded either as not many people know the route. I let a lady from work know as she lives at Coogee and she has a teenage daughter so it's good for them as her son and other friends live near me. They can leave the car at home when it's running.

Here is a bus stop song..

I used to be able get a bus from the corner of my street that went straight to Bondi Jct via Randwick and past your old shop, also could walk a block and a half and had another bus that went to Bondi Junction through Kingsford, Randwick, the bottom of Queens Park then onto Bondi Junction, now both of these buses terminate at Prince Of Wales Hospital at Randwick so have no direct bus to Bondi Jct now from almost my front door.

I love The Hollies and that came up on youtube when I was doing my Bus Stop search..

Was that the 348? I remember going on that to see something at the Enmore Theatre I think. I get the 379 and they run every few minutes thank goodness so I never rush. There is always a lineup at the transit centre but I never try and get on if it's too crowded like yesterday and today. I always tell the tourists not to panic as there is always another coming before too long..That happened today..I was head of the queue for an empty bus and Paul Kelly came up on my ipod with Before Too Long just as I sat down..

Yes it was the 348, still a handy bus for me but was handier when it went direct to Bondi Junction.
I found when i was getting the 379 down to Bondi Waters i would walk around to Bronte Road and get on at the stop there near the Ebley st corner, that way i had a seat before it got around to the interchange where it usually filled up. It was always crowded getting the 379 back to the Junction from Bondi Waters.

Yes I've done that too a few times by going up to the Ebley St stop as it's past the club supporter gear shop so an excuse to take a look. I've so many Roosters caps but saw the Bondi Blue one but didn't want to pay $36 including discount as I can't justify the expense. They appear to have sold out now even thought I had been keeping an eye out during the sale. Bondi Waters always looks lovely and its not far from me. I would only get a seat just after 6am when I was going to the Kogarah office and if I have to go during the week after work to run errands, I can get a seat at the Curlewis St stop. I even walk further down near the big roundabout at Warners Avenue to get a seat as it's a flat walk down past the Beach Road Hotel. Fishmonger is my local seafood place and I get grilled calamari from there quite often. It's directly opposite the hotel. I'm happy the 379 goes direct to Charing Cross as I can visit my hairdresser for my Roosters news too, plus the Wholegreen Bakery has moved from Clovelly to the junction up on the way to Charing Cross, so that's good for me too. It's up on the left before your sister's place and they sell frozen bread half price plus have the most amazing pies, but that's a once a year birthday treat these days..

Here is my lovely Alex Lloyd with Bus Ride. The episode of Australian Story on him broke my heart...My niece used to come to his concerts with me a lot and my friends took me again after Mum died as he supported Chris Isaak.

Its a funny bus route as it goes from North Bondi to Bronte Beach, sort of goes in a horse shoe shape route. In the old days the 379 ran from Bronte to Circular Quay.
Went and saw James Reyne at the State Theatre a couple of months back and didn't pay attention to who the support act was, it was Alex Lloyd but i didn't recognise him when he came on stage, yes the Australian Story episode with him was so sad.
About a month or two before the James Reyne gig Alex played at a venue just around the corner from my place called Darling Nikki's, just a very small non descript venue on the highway, they even have had Barry Morgan who used to appear on Spicks and Specks playing there a couple of times.

                      • With much trepidation may I please ask what the sad Alex story was about? I bought every one of his albums when they were released and still own the first two which I love. I was a huge fan of his from his debut in 99 through to the 00’s.

Thanks Horrie. I knew he had some weight issues before and after he became famous, and I also knew about the friend falsely accusing him of ‘stealing’ Amazing, or claiming it was a cowrite. I also knew about the marriage breakdown, but not the other stuff like the drug addiction and his terrible childhood. It truly is a heartbreaking story. I’ll have to check abc iview as I don’t usually watch Australian Story unless I happen to see something interesting advertised. Clearly I missed this.

The 378 has changed route as well and runs down to the casino now. My sister and I caught it when we went to the Carole King musical, Beautiful, for my 50th. I'm glad you got to see James Reyne and he's always performing in smaller towns too. Grace Knight performed at the Pavilion over the King's Birthday weekend and I thought of you.

I love this album you did for me. Here it is, along with one of the most popular albums of all time, Tapestry by Carole King. 1971 was an excellent year for music.

Can't find anything about the 378 running anymore, i think the one you mentioned is the 389 which now runs to Pyrmont from Bondi Junction and goes by the Casino and i think terminates at the Maritime Museum. i got it not long ago coming home from the Blue Eyed Dragon which is just behind the casino, i have also caught it just down the road at Pirrama Park a few times. In the old days it used to run from Circular Quay to North Bondi, i sometimes still catch it as it stops outside my doctors practise at Darlinghurst to get to Bondi Junction.

Both of the above albums are superb, Tapestry is one of the all time greatest albums.

Here is another bus related song.
