I've always been quite partial to this beautiful Frank Sinatra song - Three Coins in the Fountain

This is playing right now. Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli - I've Got the World on a String. My niece met Liza last year in the US at a function on her 50th birthday and Liza told her that she had on a pretty dress. Lifetime pinch me moment right there..I wish Mum & Dad were alive to hear that story..

This is such a cheerful song..I love the lyrics "Sitting on a rainbow'..

Going through my parents possessions, i came across this album which i can still remember from when we were living in Paddington in the 60' s , as a young one i was always fascinated by the cover with what i thought was the Hollywood Bowl.

That's a beautiful one from Horrie and I'm going to listen to it over the weekend in it's entirety. The memories we have attached to our parents' vinyl collections are priceless. The artwork is gorgeous too. I'm trying to remember the name of the late 1960's vinyl various artists album we had but to be fair, I was only 3 at the time but I do remember it had Hi Ho Silver Lining by Jeff Beck, House of the Rising Sun and some other hippy tracks. I think the 60's are my favourite era for music.
Dad had Judy Garland's greatest hits and this one is so cheerful..Zing Went the Strings of My Heart..I love the sentiment behind the lyrics..that excitement of falling in love..

Even though i had not seen the record for many years i had never forgotten the art work on the cover, finally seeing the actual album the other day bought back so many memories of Paddington, the old record player, the room where it was in, the old unused fire place,,so many memories .

It's always memory evoking just by looking at an album cover. Seeing the one 007 found for me sent me straight back to my childhood bedroom. The albums we had mostly belonged to my sisters and in that collection there was also a Neil Diamond one and The Essential Beatles. OMG the Beatles just came up as I type this..with this..

Another one i remember was a Tony Bennet album , it had a picture of the Golden Gate bridge on it, i thought it was so exotic back in the 60 s, not sure what happened to that album.
Another i found was a Gold Edge album which had Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Four Tops and Stevie Wonder and the Temptations, i actually remember buying it with my mother at Grace Brothers Bondi Junction for my father for Fathers Day, i still remember what the lay out of the record department at Grace Brothers was like and taking the record to the counter. Diana Ross looks stunning on the cover, will try and post a link to the album cover when my internet comes back ( still down after yesterdays storm ) so just using my phone at the moment.

I've been chatting to our school friends on Facebook and we are all reminiscing about the record store we had in the arcade where most of us spent our first pay packets. For me the big one was Australian Crawl's Sirocco which was a fold out album with lyrics thank goodness as no-one could understand James Reyne..
After Ace Frehley passed away I'd tagged one of the girls as I remember she had some long name for her cat that went Montgomery something Peter Criss Xanadu and then her surname... My cousin and her husband just got back from Norway and they posted pictures of a great vinyl store they went to. He picked up one of Ace's albums and she got a Joni Mitchell boxed set which I may or may not steal when I go visit next..
I'm back in the Kent St office permanently now and the piped music is still playing in the bathrooms..Olivia came up with Deeper Than the Night the other day..nice way to be welcomed back to that office after 2 years away..She's not a silly old bugger but it's my thread and I'll post her anyway..don't hear this one often enough..

Loved San Francisco when i was there back in 2014, hope i can get back one day but wont while Trump is in power.
