Yes it was sad. I believe he was travelling from Gold Coast to Byron Bay when it happened.Originally posted by redwhiteblue View Post
I must confess I hadn't heard the song you posted. Again, I was more familiar with the earlier stuff from their first 2 albums. I did see them live in 1982 at a free concert at Wanda Beach on the same bill as Tablewaiters, Machinations, INXS and Midnight Oil where they did the middle slot. It poured with rain all afternoon but a good time was had by all.

Garry Dowling had died in a similar fashion also in Queensland in a car accident the year before. 2 of my favourites gone within a year. That was rough on my 12 - 13 year old self. The concert you attended sounded amazing. Love the Machinations too:Originally posted by Blue Suede Schubert View Post

I should let redwhiteblue answer this but Garry Dowling was a great fullback who played for Canterbury, Parramatta and Western Suburbs, he also played for Australia.Originally posted by Blue Suede Schubert View Post

Oh Ok, I am familiar with THAT Garry Dowling. I was thinking that rwb was referring to a namesake in relation to Mi-Sex or Machinations and it definitely didn't ring any bells.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post
