Wings of an Eagle and Sweet Sweet Love are probably his best known songs after The Real Thing but he does have an impressive back and current catalouge , unfortunately i will be away in Orange when he plays his final petformance at the Opera House, i missed his last couple of performances at the Opera House over the last couple of years where he performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra because i was away also, but have been lucky to see him perform a couple of times at a local venue called the Camelot Lounge pre covid and he was fantastic live.i am hoping he announce a second Sydney concert as he is up to his third show now in Melbourne.

Sweet Sweet Love is the other one I knew. I just checked out Wings of an Eagle on my Spotify and yes of course I know that song but I had no idea it was him! It’s a fantastic song too! Well it’s amazing when you find out something that’s seemingly passed you by for about 40 years lol! I hope he announces a second or third concert in Sydney so you can see him again.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

My Mum loved Col Joye. She would have been very sad if she was still here with us.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

Yes my mum loved Col Joye too, i remember a couple of albums in the collection at home when i was growing up. I have an old fishing book which has Col with a bream he caught which was 6lb in the old scale, for a bream that is a huge fish.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

Also if it wasn't for Col we might have not had the Bee Gees as he recognised their early talent.

I never realised this had turned into a general chit chat thread At least though the chit chat is about music So I will add to the general chit chat with a story about the next song I’m posting
A long time ago when I was young I had a mate who dabbled playing and writing music his talent was limited, however a mate of his was quite talented. At the time both were completely off their heads on smack They made a lot of music together some of it was very good and they were selling bits and pieces of it off to people for their next hit. About ten years later I’ve heard the following track and the beginning is theirs I was there when they first started playing and recording it adding to it with the bongos I remember listening to the recording of it and saying Fcuk it’s raw but if you add piano keyboards and synthesisers to this you’ve got a really nice track Anyway somehow it appears the artist below has done just that and turned what was a raw recording with acoustic guitars and bongos into a really nice song
This raw recording by two junkies assisted with bongos by a one time pothead appears to have been turned into Everloving by Moby

As mentioned before, a few glaring omissions from the Hottest 100, still though it was a good list overall but these next three should have been on the list somewhere.
