I'm sitting here reading Olivia's cookbook right now. I had no idea she covered that song..

I had forgotten about it and it popped up on a temporary stick i had done for the car, it is from A Few Best Men soundtrack. It is a strange album as it has Olivia covering some of the 70 s classic song but the mixes are so strange and her voice in some sound like they have been put through a blender and so far removed from the original songs. I do like her stripped back version of Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad. The album also has her original song Weightless on it.

        • Here is an example of some of the songs from that album, Olivia doing Brand New Key, her voice is so electronically altered in the opening part of the song but it fades into her original voice about half way through, then goes back to being altered before her original vocals again, it could have been a really good cover but fails.

Oh golly. Our Liv does not need autotune

I reset my ipod for my last day in the office on Friday as I knew it would be a slow trip in and the Grease megamix was the first to play and then Xanadu. I do love this version from Sharleen Spiteri that you gave me.
This is from Graham Norton and looks like a Christmas episode too

There are covers of Mickey, Georgy Girl, Sugar Sugar, The Rain The Park and Other Things, I Think I Love You, Devil Gate Drive, Day Dream Believer, The Love Boat and The Push Bike Song by Olivia but they are so unrecognisable and not even close to the originals and a couple where Livvy only has one verse or line to sing, i just cannot stand listening to them, a shame because some of them could have been great covers done by her.

I wonder if we can find an un-autotune version of the album as those songs are all great. The Push Bike Song is a childhood favourite and I'd love to hear Devil Gate Drive. I can only find a terrible version which is such an insult to Olivia's voice.

Unfortunately all the covers on the album apart from Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad are like it, they have have done horrible things to Olivia voice. You wouldn't even recognise The Push Bike song

Very disappointing. A while back, I spent a rainy Saturday watching Olivia on various shows like Val Doonican's, who was one of Dad's favourites. I loved not only that style of variety show back then, but the simplicity of the performances, the fashions and the era itself. Here she is singing one of Mum's favourites on the show. Funny how normally YouTube will shuffle to other performers but on that day, it just stuck to Olivia

Is that the one from Hamer Hall? There is also the official documentary release by her family but I'm not up for watching that yet either. It took me long enough to watch anything George Michael related. Hard to believe it's been 9 years this Christmas.

                              • The original of this came up on my ipod the other day and then 5 songs later, Judy Stone, one of my parents' favourites with her version:
