Thanks NC, shadow and horrie.
NC, which African restaurant did you go to? We went to one in Newtown (down the Patizzi Cafe end, close to St. Peters) and though we were really eager to try it, we left before our mains came out because had we waited, I'm sure we would have waited for months. It was disappointing; the staff didn't really seem to show any interest in us or care that we had been waiting so long.
I know there's one across from the Dendy, wouldn't mind trying that one.

The one near the patizzi cafe is the one i wanted to try,the menu looks interesting but the reviews on eatability are all over the place.Kilimanjaro is the one opposite the Dendy.Originally posted by Lauren View PostThanks NC, shadow and horrie.

Hi guys,
I went to Kilimanjaro African restaurant at Newtown (after a drink at Kelly's across the road). It's my friend's whose birthday it was fave place to go for her birthday. The food is great and the service is bloody quick. You just need to remember that basically all drinks are BYO, including soft drink.
The place isn't fancy, but it is good value. We ordered 3 sides, 3 mains, 3 flat breads, 1 cous cous and 1 rice from memory and it came to a total of around $65. So the 3 of us chipped in $25 each which gave them a tip as well.
Very nice night had by all.

I remember going there a couple of times many years ago,as you say the service was quick,i remember they rushed out the food and rushed you out as soon as you finished eating so they could get another sitting, it wasn't a relaxing experience.A few of my friends boycotted it because of the rushed service,i suppose i didn't go back just because of the sheer variety of eating places on King st.I might give it another go because i remember the food was pretty good and the place doesn't seem as busy now as it used to be in the mid 90's so i might not get thrown out as i put the last bit of food in my mouthOriginally posted by novice chook View PostHi guys,
