The R U Ok? thread

I think this a very good and worthwhile thread.

There is one on another forum I am involved with. Despite our differences on there as members, it unites us as caring, decent human beings.

It is very important to be kind to and considerate of each other, particularly during these particularly challenging times of COVID-19.

That is so true and yet some on here cannot help themselves with some threads still being littered with inflammatory and completely unnecessary comments about gender bias, politics, race riots etc. It's attention seeking at its worst and very ugly. I'm glad you have another forum to go to as well. I follow RUOK via Linkedin where it's more professional and respectful and potential/past/current employers can see anything you post which stops the trolls.

It costs nothing to say something kind. Even less to shut up altogether

Hope your instincts are right RWB. It’s not at all a great time to try and get your first job with the current state of the economy. Not a great time for anyone..

I have enormous faith in the power of positive thinking and I will manifest a wonderful job for your daughter MR as she deserves it and you deserve to have one less matter to worry about.

The company I will be working for just announced 1,000 job openings for Australians ..my instincts were correct...we will all get through this somehow

It's nice to hear from you Eddie and I hope your property sale goes well and that you benefit from a change of scenery. We have one not far from you and we are selling also for much the same reason due to ageing family members. Keep watching the Roosters Eddie and keep safe and well.

Thanks so much Eddie. We are fortunate the buyer is the actual agent as we all grew up in the same town, so we didn't have to advertise and he wants the property for himself as he knows our family very well and has been managing the property for us. I hope all goes well for you also Eddie. People still need homes to live in and I know it will all go well for you.

Think you have your work cut out for you

That goes for some others on here too 1908. People who are 'hard work' don't figure in my life anymore. That is the lesson I have learned this year. Good friends are easy to be around and don't seek attention by being inflammatory and offensive just to get a rise out of others. I hope you are well and staying safe.

Thanks Redwhiteblue we are actually going really well. We managed to get into Queensland to see 2 off our daughters we haven't seen for a fair while because of the virus , real boost for us and them .Hope you going well and really enjoy the new job when you start .

It is a decent forum. The 'Pen is my favourite, of course, but this other one has a small number of posters on it, but it is a genuine rugby league community. I talk more general RL content on there, but I wish there were more Easts fans on it (there is really only me and one other, who is fairly inactive)! Anyway, it offers good, but harmless banter.

I hope all goes well with the new job, I am sure it will.

I'm ok, just find it hard to post these days.I am trying to sell my house as it's too much property to look after now, and maybe a sea-change will help with the depression.

We are united for our support of the greatest club in the world, but occasionally we have our differences. Hopefully we can make up and move on. Common human decency should be a constant and never change in my view.
