Stumbled upon this gem last evening....the Whitlams have gone country! Tim Freedman has teamed up with some great musos incl one of our very best guitarists Rod McCormack. Doing a quick fire regional tour and cut an album (I think..).
This is the single....bear with me, it contains images that may offend.. South Sydney stuff. But the song and film clip is so good it's worth it. Old imagery of Sydney town is brilliant. Take me back.
Written by Perry Keyes whose music I have fallen in love with. Aussie talent plus. Will post some of his here later.

Thanks Jack! You know my deep love of Tim and The Whitlams...I never did recover from being stuck in Melbourne on ANZAC Day 2012 and missing out seeing him perform at a Roosters game..talk about worlds colliding....the ONE year I decide not to be there..Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View PostStumbled upon this gem last evening....the Whitlams have gone country! ..LOL..thanks for the offensive images warning as I am having lunch..
..Poor Parra got the wooden spoon according to the news footage in the clip too...
You may like this one Jack. It's The Whitlams with Kate Kelly (Ned Kelly's sister) and I was at this show at the Metro with my Goddaughter:

Thanks RWB, that must have been a great gig. Love the Metro. Hope to catch this Whitlams Black Stump band somewhere in the next few weeks. Enjoying reading more about Tim Freedman, he tried the pro punter gig for a few years himself, a man after my own heart!Originally posted by redwhiteblue View Post

Oh wow..I never would have known that was Tim's dad..I note they are playing down at Thirroul soon..their team is the Roosters too...Yes my God Daughter and I went to a lot of shows at the Metro. We saw Alex Lloyd and the Whitlams for me and The White Stripes and few others for her. Think I saw Debby Harry there too or maybe that was the Enmore.Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View Post

Tim & Alex are two of my favourite Australian singer songwriters. For a while there, I would buy anything and everything they released. Let me know how the show goes..you remember this one..?

Every afternoon after work I put on my own computer and playlist and Jimmy Barnes has been coming up during the week as I have a lot of his albums. This is another good one from Two Fires, called Love is Enough:
