I enjoyed those too...but if you combine conditioning with hypnosis like he did in some episodes you can get some people to do almost anything...so I'm not sure they were experiments as such.Originally posted by c_q:267262The Derren Brown Experiments that have been on SBS the last few weeks. Well worth watching if you're interested in human behaviour.

....and The Light Bulb Conspiracy is just as captivating....carry onOriginally posted by Kangarooster View PostDeep Water. Unbelievable true story of a weekend sailor who put his business, house etc on the line and entered the first non-stop circumnavigation round the world yacht race in 1968...and very quickly realised he was way out of his depth. He decided to fake his position and sail round in circles for months until the rest of the fleet were almost back home and then join them and cruise to the finish line a hero. That was the plan anyway. Best doco I've seen.

Hey mate, sorry for the slow reply. Just got back from holidays. Hunter's books can be a bit of a drag IMO depending on your personal interests. I thought his first published book "Hells Angels - The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs" was great. Of course there is always "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" which is probably his most well known book. "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail" was okay but for me once he really gets into the political stuff I lose interest a little. Mind you the political stuff was his bread and butter. Some years ago I read the first volume of his autobiography/letters which was called "Tales of a Southern Gentleman". It was awesome. Anyway, happy reading!!Originally posted by Gary Worthless View PostHi teriyaki, welcome back. I am also a big bukowski fan so thanks for the tip. I have never read a Thompson book so can you recommend me his best works..I have a 3 week window to attempt to read a novel. Cheers.
