While this isn’t the Venezuelan election thread zac, I’m interested into how Maduro supposedly stole the presidency?Originally posted by caz View Postmaduro stole the last election so there was an argument to do something but this is pretty radical. but the biggest question is what next? regime change is not an easy thing to do well. hard to see how this is going to work out for the best
If Urrutia got in on the back of US funding, wouldn’t they have stolen the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people?

No CM because the US always does the ethical thing according to our lamentable MSM. Caz is just one of the 40% (amazing in itself) who still trust it having always done so. Not a lot of point appealing to reason, most of our sheeple think emotionally, they're strangers to deep considersation.Originally posted by A Country Member View Post

both can be true. politics is about supporting the least shithouse option. but the fact that maduro isn't a saint isn't the point. the u.s. has chosen a course of action that is not only probably illegal but also probably doomed to make things worse.Originally posted by A Country Member View Post

The US sanctioned Venezuela into starvation trying to force Maduro’s hand. They have repeatedly tried to kidnap him and force a coup but haven’t succeeded until now.Originally posted by caz View Post

My view wouldn’t be popular in a cab and would probably result in lower fares.

haha, driving a cab is about providing a service. once you realise that - and it took me ten years - things become easier. if people voice opinions you don't agree with does it matter? no. it's a chance to broaden your understanding of what people are thinking.Originally posted by A Country Member View PostThe US sanctioned Venezuela into starvation trying to force Maduro’s hand. i'm not defending the u.s. in this. not by a long shot

It’s more about trying to zip the lip and not offending the passengers. It’s the osmosis of opinion that infiltrates.. plus the talkback radioOriginally posted by caz View Post

Your view is widely shared Count but only by the Knowledge Class (Has everyone read about the new class deliniations?). "They couln't run the country, ran it into the ground" line is naseating. Our sheeple wouldn't know about the destructive effect of sanctions on the state of that economy, they're not told. All we get is egregious propaganda.Originally posted by A Country Member View PostThe US sanctioned Venezuela into starvation trying to force Maduro’s hand. Despite all, they managed impressive reforms that benefitted the neglected masses. The kinds of things that would have benefitted our masses, unfortunately our lot side with the rich and powerful.

that might be true but it seems like there are a lot of venezuelans who don't support maduro. either way, hard to see how this is going to end wellOriginally posted by Paddo Colt 61 View Post

Yep, those plastic shields were a design of the Bush I administration to limit public discourse, but like front seat passengers, perhaps in revolt of cheap telecommunications, has receded into cheap chat.
I see how Venezuelans would react, imagine if Trump cut Aus off the world and stopped trade with China both ways, how long do you think we’d last ?
Not as long as the mighty Venezuelans I bet!
