Fantastic my friend! I'm back into one of my skirts this morning and my manager had also commented on my weight loss.Originally posted by Andrew Walker View PostToday is Day 18 of being booze free and eating healthy with literally no junk food. I still do have a Saturday afternoon ice cream around 2pm and that's all I need on a weekly basis as a treat. The chocolate I bought on special at Harris Farm is for Easter and I'm not a big fan of it anyway these days.
Now I am off for my 4th walk of today. Its very windy and grey but no actual rain. No need for staying indoors being theatrical and dramatic.

Wellness related... on the plane to Japan this morning the young lady next to me had botoxed her lips into the shape of a duck.
Hilariously her mouth looked like that of a famous blow-up doll from Leisure Suit Larry, when he reaches rock bottom. Not sure why such lips or tights that spread your butt cheeks resulting in an eternal wedgie are part of being 'well' but power to their custodians, I suppose.

ism22 Your post is in the wrong thread. This is for positive health and well being tips to encourage each other and support one another both physically and mentally.
Thanks Horrie, Andy & Bates as you are all inspiring me more than you know.

Sensible Bates. I approve. My left wonky knee doesn't ache anymore, even when we had all that rain earlier this week. Lots of walking to stretch it seems to do the trick. Prince Phillip was a great believer in a good brisk walk in cold weather as a cure for what ails us and I'm the same. That's why I love winter and never shy away from walking no matter how cold it gets. I just stocked up the freezer with fancy little ice creams but all in small portions to have once a week on Saturdays.Originally posted by Bates View PostEarly 3 hour surf followed by a bacon and egg roll and small hot chips.
My mantra is 70/30
70% clean living which includes plenty of exercise and stretching. 30% eat and drink what I want. I won't touch Maccas, KFC, etc though!
My late uncle was a jockey and he lived to be in his early 90's despite drinking beer and living on homemade salty corned beef (I make it once a year but the salt reduced kind and love it too). He played a lot of lawn bowls like my father did and he always gave advice of 'just keep moving'. He played bowls for as long as possible and had a great social life. He'd bought an apartment directly across the road from Twin Towns as well so that he could still keep active at the local bowls club.
Tme to get off one's Duchess bottom and go make salad.

I get something similar. I was in a bad car accident when I was younger and was in traction for some time. I had a large pin through my Tibia for 6 months. It can ache like buggery when it's raining. I hit it on the head with 2 Nurofen Plus when I feel it coming on.Originally posted by Duchess_of_Bondi View Post

I am enjoying the old dirty bird ( KFC ) a bit of late but not making a habit of it Macca's hasn't touched my lips or stomach for around 26 years or so after i got really sick from eating it one night so never again.Originally posted by Bates View Post

Do like a Hungry Jacks burger once every 18 months or so. Really though for a burger i would prefer an old style milk bar burger but they are getting harder to find these days.

. I played a lot of sport as a teenager, particularly basketball (premiers twice, once with me as captain. Dad was thrilled as the trophy was blue and gold like his beloved Eels), netball and volleyball. I ended up with damaged cartilage and then later on, I've rolled and sprained my left ankle so many times over the years. I love watching the volleyball down at the beach and would love to play again one day. I normally go down for my walks around 5.30am and there was a guy down there already setting up the net. I love table tennis and would like to learn pickleball too. I used to love backyard tennis on the pole too.
I use Zen Liniment (because I'm a hippy chick
) and get it on special for around $14. One of my old bosses from Nepal is married to a nurse and she approved it for him so it must be good. It has a very strong aromatherapy smell however so if I am in pain before going out, I use Mentholatum Ice Spray. I can only take aspro clear as a pain killer and it helps me sleep as well. Usually only for toothache and such.
I didn't want to highjack the other thread, but yes the barber shop down on Roscoe St
was painted recently. I didn't know they have been going for that long. There are more up on Glenayr Avenue and it's starting to resemble Brooklyn around here but in a good way. It's very quiet at night as most people get up early to meditate, surf, run, swim, surf and go walking.

I was almost going to succumb to Grill'd or Bondi Tony's but I need to get up early for work tomorrow and don't want to sleep on a full tummy..Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

I'll use Swiss Cheese which is very underrated for it's meltability and prefer my onions caramelised over raw in my beef burgers.
I love fish burgers! Big slab of beer battered Snapper with pickles, cos lettuce and aioli.
