Sometimes I have to check I’m not in Shanghai. As I peer out my window I can see what appear to be 3 young Chinese women walking down the rd Just to clarify it’s neither the Silk Rd nor the Belt and Rd

Hey Bates. Whilst you are more than likely right I would LOVE for this thread to stay open.

Anger and dissension have no place in this thread.

Support for the victims, support for the Jewish community and of course support for every Australian trying to process the horror of Bondi.

So before members of The Chookpen decides to post on here, think about the value and consequences of your words.

I wont be closing this thread but I will be banning members that continue to agitate instead of celebrate.

had a lot of anger directed at me in that other thread I was called a idiot, useful idiot and terrorist sympathizer and I did not once reply in kind. I only ever referred to the Jewish once and that was in a positive light in my last post when I mentioned that some of them in Israel are against the actions of the Netanyahu government. Not sure what we are supposed to celebrate after the tradgedy in Bondi? Maybe another century for Travis Head but that seems like a topic for the cricket thread. Was I agitating?

I'm still hurting following the horrific events. I lived in Bondi for 55 years before moving down to the south coast. I know most of the people in the area that have been there for some time. My 2 boys and their families live within 1km of that bridge. My oldest son was lacing up his runners on his patio and was preparing to go for a run to Clovelly via Campbell Parade. I have to stop now as I'm getting very upset again. sorry.

Bates, I understand that the division runs deep. I understand that people are angry and upset. But this event deserves more than people screaming into the void and starting conflict.

I have lived in the Eastern Suburbs my entire life and I have never felt the anger that I am processing right now.

Again, I urge everyone to think about the victims, offer support and show empathy to everyone who needs it right now.

Thank you MR, here you have interpreted my post correctly when others, blinded by emotion, did not. I was, of course, alluding to media that was quick to take advantage of the calamitous situation to further its political racist agenda, to diminish sympathy for the people of Gaza and to attempt to wallop a government that has attempted to maintain our social harmony by refusing to implement the divisive, discriminatory recommendations by the Anti Semitism envoy. Recommendations which read like they were drawn up by Newscorpse.
