That’s one of the things I do hate about Aldi - the messy stores, and the old fashioned long queues. But I guess that’s how they keep their costs lower.

Yep and basically if you only want one or two things the queues just make it not worthwhile at all. I had to have a chuckle at Coles the other day ( and it also happens at Woolies ) the queue for the serve yourself checkouts, lol, its longer a lot of the times than the queue for a check out person. Have only used the self serve at Woolies once when i got some bananas for breakfast just after 7 am and i only use the Coles one if i'm picking up some milk or mark downed meat after work.

You cant also beat a fresh feed of bream, a very underated fish taste wise, lends beautifully to just being baked with a bit of white wine or lends itself beautifully to Asian flavours, such a clean tasting flesh, i like keeping a couple that have either been caught off a surf beach or from some of the cleaner coastal estuaries.

Interesting you say that Horrie as the big bream I got yesterday from from the surf side of the Moruya break wall and the other big break today was taken from Tuross lake on the flats just opposite the boat shed.

Got another 5 decent flatties today as well.

What size salmon? Did you bleed it straight away?

I like the way you catch all that fresh seafood and then polish off a chicken burger and meat lovers pizza.....that's a true balanced diet!!

The salmon was released. It was only an average sized one. They really aren’t a decent feed anyway imo.

As for a balanced diet, I’m very ‘unbalanced’ thanks to my diet.

Nah mate. Was the southern style chicken burger from the Boat Shed on the waterfront at Tuross. Bloody good burger but still can’t beat a Brod chicken schnitzel burger here in Canberra. They are delightful!

Next time I am up that way, I will give The Quaterdeck a try.

I miss getting a fresh feed of fish, haven't been fishing for a long while now but did check what i had in the cupboard not long ago and all the hand lines seem to be in good condition so going to start by going to the harbour and try for a leatherjacket or two. Have to clean up the reels and rods and get some line onto them for next time i go up the coast to Stuarts Point / Grassy Head, there are some great bream and flathead in the river there and such a peaceful spot to fish.

Like I said to Salvo I use Aldi. I’ve never heard of fresh’n’save. That must be a QLD brand. We have IGA here but it’s not convenient and pricing is no better than the big two.

Yeah I think fresh and save is QLD only.
It's like a big warehouse of food and is a lot cheaper than woolies or coles. It also has the best quality meat in town.

I also have an iga across the road, but their range is limited and they're not cheap. Convenience only.
