On Sunday I travelled to watch my grandsons grand final at Redfern Oval.
Poor kids got flogged 34 to 0.
I was disappointed at this but hung around till the presentation to find out that these boys had the worst possible run to get into a grand final.
These boys had played four games in seven days with at least two of them going to extra time.
Sunday 7th August Played full game plus extra time ending in a draw
Tuesday 9th August Played full game plus extra time ending in a draw
Thursday 11th August Played full game with a 12 -10 win to get them int the grand final against the eventual champs
That has to be the toughest way to get to a grand final and hope you have the energy to compete with a team that has had two weeks to prepare. No wonder they lost 34 to nil.

My question
Do you think the system is fair that allows one team to have too play three games in such a short time with such a short turn around to the fouth game which is the supposed hardest game of the year the Grand Final?

Don't forget a few of them had played RU on the Friday night as well.
They are gluttons for punishment. I went to the Tuesday night replay and the GF as well.

The club is immensely proud of the boys and what they acheived.

The think about this is the wombats team they played in the GF. The adults associated with this side spend time watching other teams and going to the summer oztag comp to poach the best players that they can. There are some nice kids in the wombats team, but what the adults do is nothing short of disgraceful.
