The top four all won their qualifying finals.
This means Souths (1) and Warriors (2) get the week off and progress to the prelim final. Manly (7) and Gold Coast (8) are eliminated.
Next week, Nth Qld (4) will play Canberra (6) and Canterbury (3) will play Roosters (5).
This matches up nicely with the NRL semi-finals. Presumably Nth Qld will play Canberra before the first grade semi on Friday night, and Canterbury will play the Roosters before the first grade semi on Saturday night.
The winner of the Nth Qld/Canberra game will play Souths in the GF qualifier, the winner of the Canterbury/Roosters game will play Warriors in the other GF qualifier.
So next week we will have a chance to see the NYC team run around before the Penrith game. Considering the way they played at the weekend and all the off-field stuff, they need all the support they can get.
