Brown was the highlight for me. Changed the game when he came on. He should have a permanent spot on last night's game.

I thought the second half showed our attack had a heartbeat. Kez must be 5/8. Teddy needs to run straight. Our support play improved.

Has anyone started a negatives only thread ffs?

Not enough space on the servers for that thread.

I thought Paulo and Allen were both shit last night. Lodge was really good for his 24 minutes but then we didn’t see him again, yet Nat Butcher got 56 mins and offered nothing.

In Nats 56 minutes he ran for 125 mtrs 35 tackles with only 1 miss, Matt Lodge barely ran 51 metres.

                Lodge played 24 minutes.
Didn't come back after his first stint?
                Was he injured?

Maybe it was a ploy by Robbo to fool the opposition

The NRL stats are often crap. They also say that Suaalii didn’t miss any tackles; I remember at least a couple. Even when right, they can often be misleading.

Lodge was on the field at the start in a particularly tough softening up period; Saints forwards were getting 3 and 4 big boys in gang tackles. Nat came on when some of the sting had gone out of the game and metres were easier. Lodge had some tough runs and some big hits for 100% tackle efficiency. They must have mistaken someone else’s metres for Nat’s, because he didn’t run for 125 mtrs in the game that I watched (although I’d had a quite few by the end). Nat gets credited for a lot of tackles where he’s one of a few blokes holding a player up in a tackle; he doesn’t flatten blokes and make them second guess their next run. Lodge absolutely ironed out one of their forwards early in the game.
Nat tries, but he’s too small to be truly effective.

haha, but as a fan there's not much i can do about it and life is more than just worrying about how your team goes? it's good to have other interests, especially when the roosters lose. good for me anyway.
i watched a thing on vince lombardi recently and apparently he regretted saying 'winning isn't everything but it's the only thing'

Being a Friday night the game is now out of the way and I can use the weekend to put it out of my mind and get over it. Also, it was good to see Luke and Teddy offer something in attack. We actually scored 4 tries in the one game.

Nathan brown thats it...now bring in the other dog Nappa for some sting in defense.

                                Positives for me were;
                                • Nathan Brown - Ran hard, tackled hard and showed some silky smooth ball skills.
                                • Jake Turpin - On 75% less than cheese, but provides 75% in attack and defence (and doesn't look gassed after 15 mins)
                                • Lindsay Collins - Ran hard and tackled everything all night.
                                • Angus Crighton - Had some excellent runs in the second half that really busted the defensive line.
                                • Teddy/Kez - Showed some glimpses of their old selves
                                • My TV is still undamaged
                                • Souths lost
