  • My gut feeling

My gut tells me that if Roosters are in the top 4 next year during origin Pearce & Carney will be the Blues Halves. They are talented, skilled & young for the future.

dont know about the top 4 part but i have been saying for a while that carney and pearce will be the SOO halves pairing next year and i think we will be up and around the top 8 at least next year. we have grosely underperformed this year but i think we have recruited well and with an improvement of attitidues and management/coaching structures, i think we can give the comp a real shake next year

What did Barrett & Kimmorley do wrong last night to be dropped?

                  Anasta at fullback? (I joke)
Sure he's also a good lock... I wouldn't rule him out in the halves though. Carney/Anasta maybe?

If the selectors have half a brain they will stick with Barrett and Kimmorley. If the Roosters do have a successful year and continue it into 2011 I'd be very surprised if Pearce and Carney weren't the halves. Next year is a big call, there is only 10 or so games before the first origin. I'd also like to see Pearce and Carney play in some finals games before they take part in an origin series. Definatley should be in City Country next year though.

Carney said playing for atherton roosters is alot slower then NRL and now its even faster nrl. It might take him time to get used to it.

true but once a great player always a great player. having pearce at half and anasta at lock almost gives him a liscense to take his tim adjusting as we have two quality play making options right there carney aside. The faster game will suit him better once he adjusts.

I think some here are over rating Carney's ability a fair bit

I'll wait and see whether Carney ever arrives at the Roosters.

Now that the CEOs and the NRL have decided that Clubs are to made more responsible for misbehaving players, rather than just the players themselves, if the Carney deal is not signed and water tight, I reckon the Roosters may get cold feet, given the player behaviour issues they have experienced this year.

Also, Sponsorhips already on shaky ground may pull the plug once they realise their brand will be associated with this well known drunkard.
