There were at least two incidents in Panthers v Warriors he absolutely gets immediately binned for.

And the one where Crichton took a dive. Pretty much ALL of his “high” hits resemble this one, where initial contact is high on the chest and the force of it then leads it up a bit higher (both of his tackles at the SCG against the Broncos in 2021 for instance, for which he copped 5 weeks).

IMO one thing the match review committee could do is charge people with diving. Dunno how you'd police it but I have seen examples of (for example) players grimacing before anybody's touched them.

I reckon you'd only have to make an example of a few players and people would stop doing it.

Should have been a penalty to Melbourne but let’s pull them both aside one set later and say “keep cool boys”. Bit late for that. Heat was coming in because nothing was getting done.

I’ve seen plenty of grubs play this game, but Latrell has taken it to the next level. He almost becomes psychotic in his contact with opposition players. He should have been penalised for the Grant incident but there was another incident that the commentators ignored about half way through the 2nd half half where Latrell again took offence to being tackled and delivered a headbutt to the Storm player when getting up. His behaviour has become an embarrassment that is being ignored by the officials because he’s the NRL poster boy.

I’d love to see Jared shorten him up next time we play them with a massive hit, even if it costs a 10 minute rest.

Agreed 100% but if Jarred did anything to the NRL’s darling, he’d be sent, not just get 10.

It needs to be done live. If you don’t make a genuine attempt to play the ball within 5 seconds you have to go off for 3-5 mins to be checked.

It’s too dangerous of an area to police. Imagine penalising a player for feigning when the poor bugger could be genuinely hurt.

It’s a real problem and difficult to sort out.

The leniency extended to him may also be related to something else about him I won't mention...but it's "the vibe"....

Souffs as a team are refereed very differently to us too- I watched many parts of their game last night watching them work over tackled Storm tackled players on the ground for ages, thinking surely the ref blows a penalty here - but nope. The did it against Pemriff too and got away with it. Sounds like a simple game plan but if we did it we'd have a 20-nil penalty count and 3 players sent off for "repeated infringements"

100%. Fatrell can obviously get away with anything because he’s played the race victim card and is now the NRLs golden boy.
Apparently he can play dirty with impunity, in the sound knowledge the piss weak kids in the bunker and the refereeing fraternity will turn a blind eye to his (and walker “the whinger”s) little tantrums.
It appears (as mentioned throughout this thread), the entire scumbag soufs team is a protected species.
On the back of that guttural performance by the vermin and the “impartiality” of the refs, I will say soufs will sail in as premiers this year.

Watched the Penrith game. My god they all milk the shit out any slightly high contract, ref gives them the benefit every time
