Veteran prop Scott Logan hopes to continue his NRL career in Sydney once his contract with the Canberra Raiders expires at the end of the season.
Logan revealed yesterday he was in talks with ''a couple of Sydney clubs'' that were interested in securing him on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old is yet to field an offer from the Raiders, whom he joined at the start of the 2007 season. He started his career with the Sydney Roosters in 1996.

''I'm just trying to work something out in Sydney and get my family settled back there,'' Logan said.

''I'm talking to a couple of Sydney clubs at the moment.

''There's nothing concrete, so I don't want to say who.

''But I'm pretty confident I've got one more good year in me, it's just about getting the balance right with the family and things like that.

''There's positive talks, but at this stage with salary caps a bit tight it might be something that's worked out a bit closer to the end of the season when they know exactly what's left.''

Logan is likely to miss Saturday's clash with the Penrith Panthers, after sustaining rib cartilage damage during last week's loss to Newcastle.

Logan got smashed by O'Meley when we played the Northern Eagles back in 19hundred and something and his "career" never recovered. He spent some time in England and came back to play for Souffs. If Souffs dump him and the Raiders don't want him, why in hell would we want him?

You might think he is soft but take it as fact - he bleeds red, white and blue mun. He used to frequent the wall well after he left the club.

Haven't the Roosters already tried the "one year deal for the wise and earnest but older prop so that he might impart his experience to the younger props before retiring" caper? I believe the previous experiments involved Nutley and Beattie - it didn't really work then and there's even less chance of it working now with the game having been artificially sped up.

The only decent props on there with any sort of potential are Matt Scott, John Kite, Junior Paulo Matt Bell, and Mickey Paea.

The rest are either too old (Logan), injury prone (Ross, Cross, Geddes) or just straight up average players (Leaeno, Norrie, Donnelly, Selmes, Mauro). Tronc is tipped to be off to Super League anyway.

I fail to understand why we would be after props anyway? We have plenty of props, the biggest issues are who will replace Fitzgibbon, and an established linebreaking centre in our outside backs.
