  • The Hutchinator !

    The Hutch is still in my SuperCoach team, and last night I had 5 bucks on him as anytime try scorer.
    woo hoo.
    The Ingleburn Roosters are 0-4 at this stage , but we are hoping for a win soon.
    maybe this week ?

    Hutch will never be a million dollar player, but he never lets us down and covers a million dollars worth of positions!

      Ever had a bad word to say about Hutch, yes what he lacks in speed and X factor he more then makes up for with versatility and his defence is just impeccable while I’m on about defence what about Sammy Walker he made about 3 crucial one on one tackles I think the first one was on a full tilt Matto cut him in half then the trysaver on Moses and there was another cover tackle on Dylan Brown I think textbook every single one not only that how often is he there just in case he’s needed Thurston like In defence and attack great stuff.

          The is a solid and reliable player. He handled Sivo really well in defense last night. Robbo values reliable defenders and he fits the mould.

              I think this game empathetically answered some questions that Robinson has been criticised for this year;

              1. Why he continues to pick Hutchinson
              2. Why he picks an outside back on the bench and;
              3. Why he signed B.Smith/is he a dummy half

                Picking an outside back on the bench is still not a good idea. Came in handy last night but I'm praying it won't be required again given it only works when our strike players get unfairly targeted and wiped out of the game.

                In the event that happens, you can activate 18th man anyway, who IMO should always be utility/outside back. Hutch will be a perfect 18th man when everyone is fit.

                    5 times out of the last 10 games we have had an outside back not be able to complete the full 80 minutes.

                    I dont believe the 18th man was activated last night as it is only activated if there are 2 cofnirmed concussions (Cat 1 or failed HIA).

                      Ben Thomas was activated as 18th player due to Tedesco suffering a game-ending injury as a result of foul play in which the offender is sent off or sin-binned.

                      Not used though

                        seems a waste not to use a fresh forward?

                          Ok I couldn't find anything on that from the NRL. Makes sense.

                          Do you know if that's also why we got a free substitute with JWH coming off for Baker? I couldn't understand why that was a free interchange?

                            I think Robbo wanted Collins and JWH playing as many minutes as possible. Was evident at the start of the 2nd half that Parra were getting some ascendency through the middle so Robbo made the double switch very quickly for Collins and JWH to go back on. Seemed the right call too as we controlled the game from that point onwards.

                              We had Allen on the bench so didn't need the 18th man (which IMO is pretty difficult to get activated anyway, and is no concession for the fact Teddy's now rubbed out of the next game).

                              End of the day nobody replaces Teddy or Manu. In some situations you get another body on the field as a consolation for your loss. Inevitably they're gonna be a fringe player and (unfortunately) I think superstars are more likely to get head injuries like Teddy's (i.e. ugly but no malice) because their games rely on a heap of stepping / faking / slight of hand that ('Murrican basketball term) ends up 'breaking prople's ankles'.

                              Watching Brandon Smith's runs, he REGULARLY just pops out of holes in attack because his awareness is next level and he's a cheeky little b*gger who will take anything that's on offer. It's unfortunate that we have him, Teddy, Walker and Keary because they are SOOOO good at it to the point where I think it's simply part of life that large, frigging average quality forwards are gonna end up bumping them in the head when they end up with their shoelaces in a knot. Dunno what you can do about it. However, I don't wanna see every accidental high shot resulting in sin-bins / send-offs just because a player's been rubbed out. Sometimes it'll go our way, other times it won't.

                              PS - during the presser Robbo said the Hutchinator's our new Maubs. Happy to accept that at gospel.
