  • I just watched the replay

I'm normally a fairly pessimistic person, but after watching a replay of Friday's match, there's precious little to criticize. I think everyone did their job. The poor handling in patches can be put down to the heat and humidity and the intensity of the defence.

JWH definitely made an impact, but I think Collins was just as important. He has been massive for the team in the past 3 weeks. Should be leading the Dally Ms I reckon. The whole team looked far more cohesive and I think everyone pretty much did their job.

    Couple of observations:

I think either team would have put 40 points on just about any other team - and probably 60+ on the Tigers
When Suallii absolutely hammered Lachlan Ilias, it was great to see Ilias smile and acknowledge that he'd just been smashed with a text book tackle.
Manu going on report was a joke (any news about his cheekbone?)

Apropos of nothing...I've also noticed that when Walker kicks a goal from the touch line, he always smiles and ruffles the ball boy's hair when he hands him the kicking tee. It's a very nice gesture and I bet the ball kid is stoked.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Personally.. not a fan of the way manu carried himself in the exchanges he had with the souffs centre (tass?)

after the first try saver - he got up and shoved him while he was still grounded.

after the 2nd try saver (albeit a little high) he (in my opinion) stepped back over him rather arrogantly.

    I know it’s souffs…
    I know they’re grubs…
there was probably more to the on field battle between the 2 I’m not seeing…

but I expect more from Joey.

he’a a clean skin, quiet and humble weapon of a player.

I want him to remain our smiling, baby faced assassin.

not carry on like he belongs in the Red& Green

I dont think he is naturally like that.

I think v Souths the Latrell hit from last year plays with his head a bit, and he goes over the top asserting himself.

It isnt great to see, as we dont want to be that kind of team.

I'm sure Robbo straightened him out.

Agreed, Nat Butcher toying with Cody Walker on the other hand.. I’m all for that.

will be interesting to see the teams reaction to Chee Kam next time we play given the injury Joey copped because of him.

Collins has delivered what every chooks fan has been waiting for. He had his setbacks now he has arrived as a genuine enforcer.
he's found the balance between impact and consistency and its beautiful to watch.

Souffs have been watching the replay too. Their media department (i.e., the Sydney Morning Herald) is pushing the story that Shaq Mitchell sustained a serious injury because of an illegal hip drop tackle by Victor.

Their other media department (Andrew Johns) started calling the Roosters 'vicious' from the get go..he really did have an axe to grind on Friday night..

I'd love a little highlights package of just that..."Nat living rent free inside Cody's head" as per the Instagram comments..

Fark, what a bunch of sore losers. Well sucked in - too late now. After he went to all that trouble to lose that weight too? LMAO.

Christian Nufty was the loser Robbo was looking at in the presser when he called out the media's biased and negative coverage of the game.

Most people just get so cut when we win.

Fark the media and fark Souffs.

Actually we all know the SMH is Souffs PR department, but that little hate piece against us was ramped up even for them.

Also previously I have not minded Cook as a person/player, but he is now on my shit list for that pathetic little whinge singling out Victor. I guess never winning anything makes everyone bitter and twisted eventually.

God I'm enjoying how much our win on Friday has made the media lose sleep.

                        I bloody loved this moment...
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Yes, what a joke! Part of the negativity Robbo was talking about on the weekend....They didn't even show the whole tackle in their little 'byte' at us, because that would've disproved their complaint! All he was doing was making sure he didn't get over the tryline - which of course the close-up obscures. I made a comment stating that, and another one about 'when is this writer going to start his job in the media department at Souffs'....no doubt, as usual, they won't publish ANYTHING that contradicts the SMH doctrine! I used to be an avid read of that paper, but it has turned into trash! There's no quality in it anymore. All articles are biased in one way, and differing opinions aren't welcome!

Most likely Shaquai Mitchell can put his injury down to his lack of fitness.

Robbo’s media criticism I think was directed mainly to gutter tabloid journo Christian Nicolussi of the SMH. So he returns serve with another piss weak story. He has the victim mindset like his many lol@souffs fans.

They took that photo down! I'll be someone ruined it with their comments...

It's not on Twitter anymore either where Jacks Fur Coat had seen it also...

It's all been deleted now from Instagram as I guess it's not a good look on the club's official page.

These were the comments that people had been posting on there:

"Dally M Sook of the Year points going to Cody Walker..Butcher living rent free in Cody Walker's head"
