SHARKS TO LAND ROOSTER ON EARLY DEAL

The Cronulla Sharks are closing in on securing Sydney Roosters young prop Tuku Hau Tapuha on an immediate deal.

Despite the Roosters struggling with forward depth as a result of a stack of players being unavailable, they are set to release Tapuha from the final months of his contract.

The 21-year-old played three games off the bench in 2021 but has not been seen in the top grade since.

Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon still has two spots available on Cronulla’s 30-man roster

Is there an actual rumour about who we might sign or os this just pure speculation?

When I first say this kid I thought he was a monster who could be anything. A few years on he doe not seem to have progressed much. Hard to tell with young props if they are going to mature or if they have already peaked.

He’s got Baker and May ahead of him. He may as well leave.

I want to see both of those blokes succeed but Baker seems to have gone backwards (he must be a candidate to go home to Newcastle?) and I don't see anything from May to get excited about (noting I've been wrong plenty of times before). So, yeah, if those two are ranked ahead of Tapuha, it's no surprise he would want to try his luck somewhere else. Good luck to him.

Tapuha is slow at everything, we have enough big forwards, the game is getting faster, I hope we see a Leniu, Momo swap deal.. Panthers need outside backs and we need a fast forward with a diff shape to Collins, Lodge and JWH...

This seems ludicrous with our current injury toll. If we are signing someone, a backrower would be handy, what’s the scoop?

I liked the look of this guy but Robbo knows better so we need to trust the process!
