  • Lodge will spend an extended stint on the sidelines to repair a facial fracture

After a massively disappointing day, it just got even more disappointing...

Matt Lodge will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a badly damaged face as the Roosters’ horror start to the season goes from bad to worse.

Lodge will spend an extended stint on the sidelines to repair a facial fracture as he joins the Roosters’ growing casualty ward.

Baker and May will need to step up.

Smith went great at prop in the few games he played there for Melbourne. Are we that desperate yet?

Few whispers getting around that cheese is also being sent for scans on his ribs... most injury prone team in the comp?

May got dominated today, felt like he went backwards from last year, baker is yet to impress in my books, too small for front row I know he’s young but we’re screwed if lodge is out especially w/o. JWH

He had a head clash I remember him peeling away from the contact and feeling his face whilst he was grimacing

And another game, another Rads HIA.

People need to realise it's a fait accompli that he'll be out of the game in two years. He can't go a month without being knocked out.

It's a sad reality as he's a Rooster through and through.

But 2023/24 may be his last season.

So just say worst case scenario we are missing Lodge (surgery), Radley (HIA), Egan B (suspension), Smith (ribs), what the farrk does our pack look like given JWH unlikely to be back in time?

Holy shit what a prospect. Playing a bears pack already in Round 2.

I liked Baker today. Shouldve been on the bench from the start.

Unbelievable. It's like we have a injury curse

Typical start to the season for us. We looked like an uncoached mess out there and it’s the same every year. The defensive errors were unforgivable. At this level players should know how to minimise injuries in front on tackles.

Best case scenario for next week (assuming Smith is seriously hurt) has to be

                            JWH
                            Turpin
                            Collins
                            N Butcher
                            Whyte
                            May

                            Hutch
                            Baker
                            Taphua
                            Wong / Neifui
