You must have a short memory if you think yesterday was the darkest day in our history. Either that, or you're a drama queen

Any loss to souffs is darker.

The phins were up for it. Classic forwards game. Simple game plan. Turn the ball back in. Bash us.

Been in the game for 120 years. There are probably moments we weren't alive for that were worse.

I personally think this game was worse than the 60-8 though, for a number of reasons. Yes its Souffs, but look past that. That game was an absolute freakshow. An anomaly. They scored in nearly every attack. We had people knocked out in the first 5 mins, players out of position. Every little bounce of the ball went their way, their gun players were absolutely at full tilt 100% and they scored tries back to back to back. Was like a horror movie and you couldn't change the momentum of what was happening, we were powerless. In terms of long-term ramifications, I think the 60-8 was a significant black day in our history given it is the exact moment you can pinpoint us losing our aura and identity around the Bondi wall and this aura of invincibility that we picked up throughout Robbo's tenure, especially after B2B. We've played well since then but have never truly been the same club sadly.

Yesterday was completely different. We were outworked and outmuscled by a far inferior team due solely to our attitude. We disrespected the jersey and the opposition with the lack of care for the footy, lack of care for the fight/challenge in front of us. We rocked up and expected to win without doing anything. Awful display of attitude. Truly one of the worst performances I've ever seen from the Roosters in my lifetime given the cattle we have. Teddy, Keary, origin forwards, club legends all through the team. Outgunned by a team of over the hill forwards and unproven rookies purely because of attitude and application. Hutch was our best player by a country mile and that kind of sums up how bad we truly were.

I've felt much, much worse after the 2004 GF, 1980 GF, 2003 GF and the 60-8 hammering by Souffs. Not to mention the Canberra/Fatty debacle in the 80's.

So true Bruce. What about the entire 1966 season? Even I wasn't born then but surely that must have been a dark period..not winning a game at all...

I mentioned 2009 because the off field atrocities were just as damaging to the club as winning the spoon. I could list them here but there's no point in dredging it up again.

No, I don't have a short memory. But yesterday was a massive disappointment. Nobody other than Easts supporters will remember the 2 score lines you referred to above, however EVERYBODY will remember that the Dolphins, on debut, totally outplayed a team that is supposedly favourite to win the comp. It will go down in history and will always be a pub trivia question. I don't care about losing GFs, at least they bloody got there and could look back on those beaten seasons with some pride of being runners-up. Yesterday should have set the platform for a good year. I saw NO positives. My predictions for penalties, restarts, tries conceded, HIAs and sib bins largely proved correct.

If you think the above score lines were our darkest days, then maybe that makes you the drama queen? Same logic applies, no?

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Obviously we don’t think so. 2 points last year almost cost us a finals spot. Round one is super important and we never seem to understand that.

Ohhh noo we're a pub trivia question.....how will I ever live this down!

Get over it. First game of the season, missing some key personnel, HIA's and injuries throughout the game. Was I disappointed? Of course I was but geez hardly the darkest day in our history

Ask any player from any club which they would rather lose..round one to a newly established team or A GRAND FINAL with half the world watching...

I know. Some people get a bit overwhelmed when we lose and play badly.

I can understand that. There was a huge crowd in Brisbane and contrary to what the commentators said, there is a lot of love for the Roosters in Qld. Who wouldn't want to go out and watch the likes of Teddy, Toups etc play against a brand new side with a lot of sentiment attached for Artie. I was really impressed with Redcliffe and good for them and their team..just a damn shame it was against Easts..anyone else, I'd be thrilled for them and rightly so...sigh...

Whilst im not going full blown crazy over it Don’t kid yourself yesterday was shocking Carlos is right in saying there was not one single positive That is unless you consider Tupou getting one try closer to Minis club record as a positive

That's the only positive I took out of it. Good call.
