Not sure if I’m brave enough to put the Tigers in the 8. But I really think they could make it.
It wasn’t that long ago that they continually finished 9th and I believe they have a better team this year than those years.
Makes sense but if I’m going with an outside shot, the Dogs might surprise.
There is no way the Dogs will make the 8 because there are 10 teams with a better roster than them.
The best rosters don’t always win the comp Mickey. Having your best players available at the business end of the season is your best chance and we know all about what can happen if you don’t.

They've definitely recruited well in my opinion.
Tim Sheens has 794 professional games of head coach experience in a near 40 year coaching career, 4 premierships, coached Origin, coached Australia, not a bad choice to come in and take over your team.
Then you look at who they've signed, Api, Bateman, Klemmer, Papalii all have played in grand finals and 3/4 are/were internationals for top tier nations. Charlie Staines also was in the Panthers grand final winning side last year although he is a reserve. That's 5 players with big match experience mixed in with a coach who knows what he's doing.
Then the existing players they have go pretty alright as well, Laurie was good last year, Brooks might finally realise his potential behind what on paper is a very strong pack, Douhei was playing well last year, Brent Naden and David Nofauluama are more than capable backs.
I don't think they'll smash the league and make the top 4 but they could scrape into the 8 especially with that coach, some very experienced players and some young hungry players looking to prove something.
Mods can we make this thread a sticky ? It will be interesting to see if anyone can actually nail this I reckon picking the top 8 in the NRL is pone of the hardest things to pick. Might be a little easier these days but its still bloody hard and would not be surprised to see nobody get it right. I will have a proper think about this in the next days or so and have a crack my self
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

I was listening to The Big Sports Breakfast this morning & they were talking about the Titans & if they can stay healthy with Verrills, Foran & Brimson in their spine plus if Fifita can fire they could be a surprise packet. Stating the obvious but the Chooks have to stay healthy to win the comp all the big names have to be there for most of the year especially at the end to win this thing.
