Never knew him personally but know he was a top notch supporter and friend of many on here. One of the few guys that almost no one said any nastiest about. Says a lot.

Well said Dr. I never met Johnny in person but we had so many mutual friends away from this online forum and through them, like most on here, we felt like we had met him anyway. My last conversation with him on here was regarding the sky blue ANZAC jerseys from 2007 as he'd been wanting one.

Oi Chris, can you add a special status to his profile? I can't say that I have any big memories of the guy but others clearly do (and most seem to know him IRL) so respect where due.

I hope nobody find this inappropriate but it was around this time last year that we heard the news that the poster known as Johnny Tobin had passed away. We were mostly adversaries on the forum but I have to admit I was rattled when I heard the news. I miss reading his posts. Actually I thought of him a lot throughout the season and no doubt other forum members who knew him in real life probably did even more. Anyway, I just thought I would start this thread and maybe others may like to add to it.

No idea. TBH it'd be nice if somebody could PM me the full story as I feel there's a tight group here who know each other IRL. I lack context so am genuinely curious. Around the time he passed, people were doing all 'nudge nudge wink wink' kinda gestures about his death being announced on Twitter by somebody, along with claims he was 'larger than life'. No disrespect but I obviously don't have that context so would love it if somebody could share.

FWIW last post on here was a humorous response to a question I asked about Wayne L. To me this suggests he was in good spirits one day and then gone the next. Presumably something quite sudden happened...
