Agreed, this forum is going to crash after our next loss and the bubble pops again.
Got to be realistic, whilst these wins are nice we really haven't been great but the boys keep digging in and for as long as they keep doing that I'll keep showing up to cheer them on. Love this fight in this team...

The comp is split in three groups, the first group are the minimalists like the Bennett, bellyache and Hasler coached teams who usually perform exceptionally well in this part of the year, they thrive on simplistic footy, minimal mistakes with predictable precision set plays, these team always hit the ground running but are usually worked out come september and come back to the field. The second group are the risk takers, teams coached by Sheens and Smith as well as cowboys and warriors style teams, they believe in open free flowing footy, give the ball air and live by the strategy that best form of defence is offence, these teams usually have the most mistakes early in the season however, they usually get it right mid to late season and surge home. The third group are the nomads, they don't really stand for anything and are taking each game at a time and their seasons usually finishes how they started.Last edited by TDK; 04-10-2012, 12:11 PM.

I think too many on here want our team to be a minimalist side, which, given our playing group and coaching staff, cannot and will not happen.
I think we can be a very good risk-taking side.
At the moment however, we are in with the nomads.

Melba take some risks, but they are controlled risks IMO. And they have the players and structures to do so.
I will say other than the Melba game our defence has been much improved. But watching Melba play they will do that to a lot of teams as Poocastle and The Cowgirls have discovered. We've shown some grit also, great sign with a young squad.
Also in the 1st few rounds we played a tight game plan, which many on here mistook for no game plan. Wingers and centres taking hit ups, forwards mainly defending, turning the ball back inside instead of going at all wide. But IMO this was due to SKiD and Moga being injured, we'd obviously trained a certain way all offseason and those plans were scrapped at the last minute. Well thats what I saw, maybe I was wrong, maybe it's just the way we were allowed to play from the opposition or maybe the poor handling was the issue.
Agreed the last two weeks we've emerged with a more expansive game, offloads and more risk. Good thing is our defence has held firm.
And 7-10 team, that was my original prediction and I see nothing to change that.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.
