    No worries.. imho players attempting shoulder charges know the risks and it is buyer beware.. If you connect with the head then you have to pay the penalty..

      Problem is mate, that shoulder charges are aimed at the opposing shoulder. The head is only 20 cm off the shoulders (10 if you're JCarney). Even if you don't hit the head upon contact, the whiplash will propel their head toward your shoulder.

      I can't find a happy medium.

      Either allow good hits like Dwyers', Te'os and Pritchards'

      or

      ban all shoulder charges alas union.

      I understand where the critics of the shoulder charge are coming from, but i see it as a fabric of our game. Once it starts getting sterilised, then so will the game.

      One should only look toward the NFL the past two season and how bad Roger Goodell has farked up the physicality of their sport.

        2010 Prelim, although it may have been a late hit rather than high. Todd stays down and Braith is tackled. Braith stays on the ground too, pointing at Todd.
