  • Captain America: USA make stunning offer to NRL as players refuse to rule out strike

I don't have access to the full article maybe someone who does can post it - below is an extract from the article

More than 160 American-based rugby league players have agreed to immediately fly to Australia to help save rugby league should NRL players decide to strike.

In an extraordinary development during the stalled collective bargaining agreement discussions, The Daily Telegraph can reveal the USA’s Championship Rugby League plan on contacting ARL Commission chairman Peter V’landys to offer a contingency plan to relocate to Australia to ensure the NRL competition starts.

Yeah... I think a bunch of GPS rugby players would be more interesting to watch than a bunch of seppos.

As an American that has worked for Roto-Rooter for 35 years, I find your comment offensive as sh!t...but not incorrect

If this happens it would be farcical and effectively null & void the entire season. I believe the RLPA would boycott the rest of the season if it was implemented

The NRL would become the joke of the sporting world

There are plenty of reserve graders who would be happy to step up and play “NRL”. Sorry America you don’t get to save the world on this occasion.

You’d think they would be sympathetic to their fellow athletes albeit in another country. ****ing sepo scavengers.

Stick to shooting up your fellow Americans.

Can we sign Derrick Henry now just in case?

Not if they ever want a chance of playing actual NRL there wouldn't be

What a load of crap. V’Landys did us good by getting the comp going through the Covid BS but somehow his ego has multiplied enormously since then and thinks he can ride roughshod over everything and everyone. This is a poor ploy to twist the arm of the RLPA, and I’d love to see how much the broadcasters would be willing to pay out of the original contract agreed upon. They will have a strong legal case to not pay for American sub standard players , which constitute a breach of contract by the NRL.
