I guess the first half of the 2010 GF doesn't count....even though Morris did throw that pass for their only try from row 8.

But yes, like it or not, both Souffs and gummies are looking like finals material this year.

And we, although currently well placed on the ladder, will have to find something more than we have been offering to contend against the better teams. I thought we looked good against NZ, but gee look what Canberra did to them. And the score should have been 50 had Croker been a goal kicker.

And on that game, I hope all on here, who think Maloney will be our second coming of the messiah next year, had a good look at just how badly he played in attack and particularly defence.

Funny how the Sharks look like the 2010 Roosters

& we look like, well the old Sharks...totally average....when was the last time we held Dragons to nil?
Lol, you have NFI about the game, stick to bagging Smiff, it's all you are good for.

The last time the Soxes were kept to nil was against Us, rnd 26 2008. If you had watched their game you'd have heard it said.

And the Tards are so much better than us hey??? Looked at the for stats??? Cos we have only scored 86 pts in 5 games and surprise surprise the Tards have scored only 86 pts in 5 games. Both teams 4-2. Difference is we played Melba and they blew out our defence. But the Tards will have to do that at some stage, may end up the same result. The Cows found out last night what Melba can do, and they were at home.

You have nothing to offer DarkHole.

      The FlogPen .

      You know it makes sense.

I totally agree he chose the piss over concentrating on playing well for the next 6 games so we didnt get the wooden spoon, which we won the last 5 i recall. He broke the players code, he wanted to get pissed more than being a team player. I think after that, no one wanted to play along side of him they realised it was all about Todd not the team.

I think there is trouble at Warriors club I have a feeling the players dont like the coach or at the very least are not responding to him From what I have seen of Johnson this year he looks to have gone completely into his shell and is just playing to structure and not really using his flair at all

                I went to cape town..had a great time..loved it.
But I was only doing the touristy thing in SA. Just saying that its a great country for a holiday and my experience there was awesome. Ive travelled pretty extensively for 20 odd years and that holiday still ranks as one of the best. Purely just being able to do things you cant do elsewhere (like safari).

Im not sure if living there would be great compared to here...but where else would you live..not many other places than OZ, especially with kids!

My comment was purely a resposne to the other comment of never going there...

                Anyway back to topic!!

The 2010 Roosters were great to watch, the 2012 Sharks are grinding away. They resemble the 2010 Chooks in now way, shape or form. If anything, they remind of the 2008 Roosters.

Exactly. He is not a superstar, he is a mega superstar...single handedly taking our spooners into a GF all on the back of himself.

Surely our greatest ever player since the great Dave Brown (i.e. not the flabby ex-manly runt). Surely he must be the next inductee into the Roosters hall of fame (RHOF). Can we raise our beer glasses to that...

                      • This is the best summation of Carney's season so far, that I have read

                        http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/l...408-1wjo2.html

TODD Carney might think he's ready for State of Origin, but in reality he isn't. Not yet. He needs to produce a much higher degree of quality involvement in games before he can command the NSW five-eighth spot. Origin, as any player who has experienced it will tell you, goes so quickly that if you don't make sure you get involved early, there is a good chance you won't get involved much at all. Carney has shown encouraging signs since he joined Cronulla, but at his best this year he's been good, rather than great. Two years ago, when he was playing for the Sydney Roosters and won the competition's Dally M player-of-the-year award, he was consistently great. There were again some good touches from Carney in the game against St George Illawarra, but it was a game in which defence ruled and no individual took charge in attack. By far the biggest reason the Sharks have performed so well this season has been the contribution of Paul Gallen. He is a lesson in quality involvement, and they wouldn't be sitting on half of their four wins without him. Of course Carney wants to play Origin. Who doesn't? And the truth is Carney, in his best form, would pick himself and give the Blues a great chance of winning the series. But wanting to play Origin and being ready to play it are two very different things. The jumper is there for Carney if he wants it. But he has got to prove he deserves it, by dominating.

the only problem I have with this article is saying Paul Gallen is wheer the Sharks are at present Gallen put in performances like thta last season and look wheer Sharks finished

Besides one poor year every club that Carney has been at has pefromed well and made the finals Perhaps Canberra 07 are the excpetion to this I wil, have to check that in a moment Yes Canberra 07 did mioss the finals Not sure though whether Carney missed footy due to indiscretyions that year or not though Its no coincidence Carneys arrival at Cronulla has been a catlyst fro there good form at the seasons beginning

Yes and if he does fall from grace you can bet Rothfield will be one of the first to jump back on that bandwagon...

It's been said elsewhere, but I think Robson has made a huge difference to the Sharks, moreso than TC, but Gallen has been the driving force behind any success they've had for the past 2 years at least. I think Gallen's performances at SOO level in 2011 made him as a footballer, he jumped to another level completely after playing 80 ferocious minutes at prop for the Blues, he finished 2011 very strong & has picked it up another level again in 2012, but there's another bloke at the Sharks who has made almost as much difference as anyone, it's Jeremy Smith. Also Gibbs & Fifita have been very solid, Fifita less so, but I think he will improve alot more this season for them, bloody strong pack of pigs if you ask me!

Fair post I along with Mickey Lane both tipped Cronulla to have a good year this year I like the look of their side all over the park Still I dont think itsd any coincidence that werever Carney seems to play the team seems to generally have a good season

Its only early days yet and watching their fans celebrate the otehr noght reminded me of us about 3 or 4 months further down the track in 2010 Its a long comp but they have started well
