This summary is from watching the game on TV, I wasn't at the game.
The first half from both teams was a mistake fest. The Newtown v Vulcans match I watched during the week was of a higher standard. And really other than a 5 minute spurt by the Roosters, the 2nd half wasn't much better.
In saying that they still managed to win & are 4 from 6, which means they are doing alot better than some so called teams that were going to win the comp.
Mini: Very very good game. I think the Roosters should keep him for 1 more year because I think this RTS could make it in FG in 2014.
Perrett: Solid but offers very little, I think it's time to try someone else. I would give Tagive a go.
BJ: I thought it was one of his better games, but to me BJ is about as good as what Sa was.
SKD: Has to be the 1st player picked because no matter how many defence misreads he does or how many mistakes he makes in general play he is the only Rooster player who has the ability to get himself in the right place to score a try.
Carney: Anyone who complains about his game is not watching the game properly. He is getting better every week.
Anasta: Without trying to find every fault in the guy I thought he played good. Set up the SKD try & was a good link on the L side, he got hammered twice whilst in possession of the ball but got straight to his feet & played on. He offers more than Morts IMO.
Pearce: My favourite. I am liking what I am seeing 90% of the time, he is definately worth persisting with. He just needs to work on his 5th tackle options, he has to learn to get himself in the right position to be able to roll the ball into the oppositions in goal & get repeat sets
FPN: Im sorry he has broken his jaw but I think this may open the door for Tom Symonds to come into the 17.
Taka: Still learing some of the finer things of the game, mainly defensive reads but is a really good edge player who has a bit of skill & could develop into a champion player.
Maubs: A little bit quiet but still had a solid game.
JWH: Has to be in the side, he is a dirty tough player & Im really warming to him. Keep it up. I thought him & Myles had a good tussle throughout the game.
Mitchell: Not enough game time. Once the Roosters get to the front, Smith seems to feel he needs Friend out there in the middle to tighten things up when I think he should have Mitchell out there trying to set up plays to score tries.
Kennedy: God this guy has some dumb mistakes in him. How he gets mentioned for Qld SOO is beyond me. He is about 5 years away from that arena if he ever makes it.
Friend: I thought he played well, I dont know if he gets on here & reads some of the constructive criticism that is written about him but he seems to have over the last 2 weeks bring a bit of variety to his game. Keep it up.
Tasi: Overall he had a pretty solid game.
Cordner: I still dont think he is ready for the 17 but the only way you get ready is by playing FG & learning as you go. I can see good things in him but I just feel he needs to put on another 5kg of muscle to be able to match some of the bigger guys in the game.
Arona: He has ball skills but I wouldn't have him in the 17. I think Symonds or Bosden have more to offer.
I give the team a 6 & half for that performance.
The Gold Coast best was Myles, he played a top game.
